URBIS 2026 officially opened today in Hall V of the Brno Exhibition Centre. ReKáva, a Czech startup combining design, education and the circular economy, will present its unique concept of living mushroom walls and mushroom-growing systems made from spent coffee grounds at URBIS 2026. The URBIS 2026 trade fair and conference, taking place on 2–4 June at the Brno Exhibition Centre, will offer municipalities of all sizes a concentrated mix of practical solutions, inspiration, and opportunities for cooperation. The entire event will be located in Pavilion V, where visitors will find two programme stages, exhibitor stands, and outdoor demonstrations of technologies in real operation. URBIS thus remains a unique platform where local governments can try out available tools firsthand and take away approaches that can be implemented without complex investments or administrative burden.

From April 24 to 26, 2026, Pavilion A1 at the Brno Exhibition Center once again became the hub of European patchwork, quilting, and textile art. The Brno Patchwork Meeting international exhibition offered visitors more than 700 quilts by nearly 200 artists from around the world, 42 exhibiting companies, and nearly 30 galleries representing both individuals and art groups.

Sunday afternoon at Brno Patchwork Meeting belonged to the final ceremonial moment of this year’s edition – the announcement of the winners of the visitors’ competition in the Czech and International Quilt category. Here, the visitors themselves had the final say, casting votes throughout all three days for their favourite works among 35 selected quilts.
