Return of the Major Agricultural Trade Fair to the Brno Exhibition Centre
March 2, 2026 / 12:49 PM
From 12 to 15 April, the Brno Exhibition Centre will host a comprehensive cluster of agricultural and forestry fairs, built around two main pillars: AGRISHOW, the fair for crop and livestock production, and the National Livestock Exhibition. Running concurrently will be the International Forestry and Hunting Fair SILVA REGINA and the BIOMASA Fair, focused on renewable energy in agriculture and forestry.
Crop and Livestock Production
The fair complex will offer a comprehensive overview of current trends in crop and livestock production, animal husbandry, forestry, and hunting. The agricultural and forestry fairs will be spread across almost the entire exhibition grounds. Visitors will find farm animals in the designated pavilion and its surroundings, horses in Pavilion F, forestry and hunting in Pavilion Z and the adjacent outdoor areas, while agricultural machinery will occupy the remaining parts of the exhibition centre.
Most brands of agricultural machinery operating in the Czech and Slovak Republics will be represented at the fair—ranging from global leaders to specialised manufacturers. Visitors can look forward to numerous product premieres, innovations, and new technologies designed both for large agricultural enterprises and small farmers, breeders, and hobby producers. The fair thus provides a unique opportunity to compare offerings, inspect machinery in a real environment, and obtain expert advice—all in one place.
AGRI ARENA
One of the major innovations of AGRISHOW is the AGRI ARENA, an outdoor demonstration polygon next to Pavilion Z. This dynamic zone is designed for live demonstrations of large agricultural machines directly in operation. The project is being created in cooperation with the Association of Importers of Agricultural Machinery, which is preparing a rich and attractive programme featuring guided presentations, test drives, and competitive activities.
Smart Farm
Another part of the fair will be the Smart Farm project, offering an overview of the latest technologies and trends in Smart Farming. The Smart Farm debuted at the 2024 agricultural and forestry fairs in Brno, and this year it builds on the proven concept. Representatives from academia and industry practitioners will present practical solutions leading to more efficient and sustainable farming. Expert lectures will take place mainly from Monday to Wednesday.
National Championships of Beef Cattle Breeds
On Sunday, 12 April 2026, visitors can look forward to the National Championship of the Limousine breed, followed by the National Championship of the Beef Simmental. Additional championships will follow in the subsequent days: on Monday, 13 April 2026, the National Championship of the Aberdeen Angus breed and, in the afternoon, the National Championship of the Charolais breed. The programme continues on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, with championships of the Aubrac, Parthenaise, Gasconne, Salers, and Hereford breeds.
In addition to competitive shows, a range of beef breeds without their own championships will also be presented, significantly enriching the exhibition with their diversity. These include guided presentations of Belgian Blue, Dexter, Wagyu, Blonde d’Aquitaine, as well as later collective showcases of Highland, Uckermärker, Pinzgauer, Chianina, or Texas Longhorn. These sessions will provide visitors with insights into each breed’s characteristics, uses, and unique traits.
Dairy Cattle Programme
The dairy cattle programme will begin on Sunday, 12 April 2026, with the Milk Academy – the school of modern cattle breeding, where visitors can actively participate in tasks and quizzes. On Monday, 13 April, and Tuesday, 14 April, competitions for children and juniors will take place in the categories ČESTR, NORMANDE, HOLSTEIN, BROWN SWISS, and JERSEY, accompanied by expert commentary and evaluation. Competitive activities will also include a performance by the Junior Team of ČSCHMS Prague, showcasing the skills of young breeders, including cross-breed group competitions.
Other Farm Animals and Horses
Additional parts of the exhibition will feature programmes dedicated to sheep, goats, pigs, and horses. Visitors can enjoy demonstrations of sheep shearing, work with herding dogs, wool and cheese processing, competitions for children and juniors in dairy cattle, as well as all-day riding and breeding demonstrations in the arena and round pen. The National Livestock Exhibition will also include a beekeeping exhibit and sales of regional food products.
Veterinary Congress
On 14 April 2026, the Central European Veterinary Congress will take place in the Morava Hall of the Brno Exhibition Centre. This event will bring together practitioners, academics, and representatives of companies active in veterinary care, animal welfare, and modern farming technologies. The congress will also feature a panel discussion providing deeper insight into the economic sustainability of livestock farms, herd health, and practical aspects of modern dairy management.
Conference: Adapting Agriculture to Climate Change
On 13 April, the Czech Agrarian Chamber will host the conference “Adapting Agriculture to Climate Change” in the Rotunda. For visitors from the agricultural sector, the accompanying programme of the BIOMASA fair will be of particular interest, including topics such as the energy use of composts.
