ZHT Group: New Electric Vehicles for Municipal Police and the Public
March 17, 2026 / 1:10 PM
At this year’s trade fair in Brno, ZHT Group presented its key electromobility projects and new developments created in cooperation with Kia. In addition to its traditional production of firefighter equipment, the company has, over the past year, significantly strengthened its position in the segment of eco friendly vehicles for municipal services.
Torres – the Electric Vehicle Transforming Municipal Police Operations
ZHT Group is showcasing the KGM Torres electric service vehicles for the third consecutive year. These vehicles are gradually being adopted by municipal police departments across the country. According to product specialist Petr Slavíček, the main reasons are cost savings and increased efficiency:
“An electric vehicle is significantly more advantageous for their day‑to‑day service than any combustion engine or plug‑in hybrid vehicle.”
The new Torres version features an 80 kWh battery and offers an exceptional city range — more than 600 km in urban conditions. According to ZHT Group, the cost savings compared to combustion vehicles are substantial, approaching one million CZK. The company also highlights a 10‑year warranty on the traction battery and a service life of up to 1 million kilometers.
Kia Premieres: The EV5 and Modular PV5 Cargo
Visitors to the stand could also see two major novelties from Kia — the family‑oriented Kia EV5 and the utility‑focused Kia PV5 Cargo.
Kia EV5: A Practical Family Electric Car
According to Daniel Simajchl from Motortec Brno, the new model is designed mainly for families and comfortable everyday use. It is the Kia EV5 equipped with an 82 kWh battery and 160 kW of power. Its main advantage is space:
“The benefit is definitely the size — a large storage area, lots of space in the back, and plenty of room in the front,” says Simajchl.
A real‑world range of around 450 km is more than respectable. The EV5 also offers intuitive controls, a 360° camera, and modern V2L technology. Prices start at around 1 million CZK, with typical fleet pricing averaging around 1,080,000 CZK.
Kia PV5 Cargo: The Ideal Partner for Companies and Municipal Police
The second new model was the modular utility van Kia PV5 Cargo in the L2H1 version, offering a range between 300–400 km. The vehicle is designed to adapt to a wide variety of uses.
“It can be a chassis, a semi‑passenger version, or a fully glazed two‑ or three‑seat van,” explains Simajchl.
Thanks to its modular design, the PV5 Cargo is also suitable for municipal police. The generous rear area can be configured as a mobile office, animal control compartment, or fitted with seats or partitions.
ZHT Group Confirms Its Place in the Electric Future
This year’s presentation in Brno shows that ZHT Group is successfully expanding its portfolio toward modern and eco‑friendly solutions. Whether it’s electric service vehicles for municipal police or Kia’s family and commercial EVs, the company is responding to growing demand for efficient, flexible, and sustainable mobility.
