Intelligence Down to the Last Sensor: Murrelektronik Highlights the Simplicity of IO Link at Amper

Industrial automation has long moved beyond the era of large cable bundles and simple binary state monitoring toward intelligent real time data collection. This year’s Amper trade fair demonstrates that shift clearly at the Murrelektronik CZ exhibit. The company, with a 50 year history and three decades of strong presence on the Czech market, focuses this year on a topic reshaping modern manufacturing: the IO Link communication standard.

According to Managing Director Ing. Vladimír Schnurpfeil, the main theme this year is complete installation solutions built around this standard. “We are showing customers our broad range of products for processing binary, analog, and IO‑Link signals. Our primary argument is simplicity — the entire system can be configured without special software, using only standard files and a simple web server,” Schnurpfeil explains.

IO‑Link in Practice: Simplicity and Diagnostics

A key attraction of the exhibit is a functional demo panel, where visitors can try out the advantages of the system in real operation. Here, Murrelektronik demonstrates how intelligence is transferred from the control system all the way to the smallest field‑level devices.

“In the past, intelligence was concentrated in the control unit. Today, it is transferred directly to the sensors. They no longer provide only binary signals but complete diagnostic data, enabling, for example, timely predictive maintenance,” describes the Managing Director of Murrelektronik CZ.

From Automotive to Food Processing

Thanks to its versatility and its ability to simplify installation while increasing the informational value of collected data, IO‑Link is being adopted across a wide range of industries. The result is a significantly clearer and optimized machine operation — a benefit appreciated by both machine manufacturers and operators across the market.

Murrelektronik products are therefore key components in many machines and systems across sectors such as automotive, intralogistics, packaging, and food processing. In these industries, IO‑Link technology helps improve diagnostics and ensure high operational reliability even under the most demanding conditions.

You can test the capabilities and benefits of IO‑Link in modern automation directly at the company’s exhibit in Pavilion P, stand 403.
