Sleek Black Design and Uncompromising Safety: OBO BETTERMANN Showcases the Future of Electrical Installations at Amper 2026
March 17, 2026 / 12:38 PM
OBO Bettermann, a well established player in the field of building electrical infrastructure, operates in more than 60 countries, runs 40 subsidiaries, and employs over 4,000 people.
This year’s OBO Bettermann exhibition at the Amper trade fair proves that even highly functional components — such as cable trays or junction boxes — can meet demanding design requirements without sacrificing anything from their German quality and safety standards.
The main attractions of the company’s display this year include the visually striking Blackline installation system and technological solutions for renewable energy sources.
Blackline: A Complete System for Exposed Installations
The era when electrical installations were always hidden under plaster is changing. A growing trend of exposed installations is emerging, embraced by architects in modern residences, lofts, and industrial office spaces.
“Blackline is a solution for on wall installations in a black finish. It’s a complete system that includes plastic components, dado trunking, ducts, armored conduits, junction boxes, trays with brackets and hangers, as well as floor boxes,” explains David Hlavička, Product Marketing Manager. The system allows for the creation of a visually unified network that highlights technical infrastructure as a distinctive interior element.
Photovoltaics on Flat Roofs: Construction and Structural Design
With the growth of photovoltaics, demand for stable support structures is increasing. At Amper, OBO Bettermann presents various solutions for flat roofs, differing in installation complexity and anchoring type — from economical options to professional systems with bases for ballast blocks.
The emphasis is primarily on weather resistance and precise structural calculations. “Depending on the installation location, we have to calculate wind loads and local weather conditions so that the wind does not damage or lift the structure,” Hlavička explains. He also notes that black finish versions of these structures are available for specific applications.
A Tradition Proven in the Metro and Nuclear Power Plants
In addition to new products, the exhibition presents other parts of the portfolio: cable support systems and high IP junction boxes. A key parameter for these components is maintaining functionality during a fire.
The quality of these products has long been verified in the most demanding environments: nuclear power plants, the Prague metro, and Škoda Auto production facilities. Experience from these critical industrial sectors is now reflected in solutions for standard office buildings and households.
