In mid April (April 12–15), the agricultural and forestry fairs AGRISHOW, the National Livestock Exhibition, SILVA REGINA, and BIOMASA will take place in Brno. An important part of the National Livestock Exhibition program is the series of beef cattle championships and additional activities for breeders.
On Sunday, April 12, 2026, visitors can look forward to the National Limousin Championship, followed by the National Simmental Beef Championship. In the following days, more championships will take place — on Monday, April 13, 2026, the National Aberdeen Angus Championship will be held, followed in the afternoon by the National Charolais Championship. The program continues on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, with championships of the Aubrac, Parthenaise, Gasconne, Salers, and Hereford breeds.
Alongside the competitive shows, a variety of beef breeds without their own championships will also be presented, significantly enriching the exhibition with their diversity. The program will include, for example, a guided presentation of Belgian Blue, Dexter, Wagyu, and Blonde d’Aquitaine cattle, as well as a later combined presentation of breeds such as Highland, Uckermärker, Pinzgauer, Chianina, and Texas Longhorn. These breeds will appear within expert‑commented blocks, allowing visitors to learn about their characteristics, uses, and unique features.
The dairy cattle program begins on Sunday, April 12, 2026, with the “Milk Academy – School of Modern Dairy Farming,” where visitors actively participate in tasks and quizzes. On Monday, April 13, and Tuesday, April 14, children and junior competitions will be held in categories ČESTR, Normande, Holstein, Brown Swiss, and Jersey, accompanied by expert commentary and evaluation of the presented animals. Competitive activities will also include a performance by the Junior Team of ČSCHMS Prague, showcasing the work of young breeders, including a multi‑breed herdsman group competition.
Other parts of the exhibition will host programs dedicated to the breeding of sheep, goats, pigs, and horses. Visitors will see demonstrations such as sheep shearing, sheepdog work, wool and cheese processing, children and junior competitions in dairy cattle, as well as all‑day riding and breeding demonstrations in both the main arena and the round pen.
On April 14, 2026, the Central European Veterinary Congress will take place in the Morava Hall at the Brno Exhibition Centre. The event will bring together experts from practice, academia, and companies active in veterinary care, animal welfare, and modern livestock technologies. The congress will also include a panel discussion with specialists who will offer deeper insight into topics such as the economic sustainability of livestock farming, herd health, and practical aspects of modern dairy production management.
