Smart Farm Will Expand Its Scope
July 21, 2025 / 11:11 AM
The Smart Farm made its debut at the Brno Exhibition Centre as part of the agricultural and forestry trade fairs in 2024. In cooperation with universities and experts from agricultural enterprises, a space was created to showcase the latest technologies in both crop and livestock production, enhanced with live exhibits. In 2026, we will continue developing this concept and expand it to include forestry technologies. The heart of the Smart Farm will be the Smart Stage, dedicated to presenting and sharing the latest insights, trends, and experiences, as well as hosting engaging discussions.
Benefits of Smart Farming for Modern Agriculture
Smart farming is transforming the way we grow crops and care for the land. With the help of modern technologies, it offers a more efficient, sustainable, and economically viable approach to farming. Here are the key benefits smart farming brings:
Efficiency and Higher Yields - With precise monitoring of soil, crops, and weather, everyday farming tasks can be optimized. Technology helps apply fertilizers, water, and crop protection agents exactly where they are needed.
Cost Savings - Automation and digital tools save both time and money. Reducing fuel use, minimizing manual labor, and managing water and chemicals more efficiently lead to significant cuts in operating costs.
More Eco-Friendly Approach - Smart farming contributes to environmental protection. With reduced use of chemicals and precise irrigation, it conserves natural resources, reduces soil erosion, and protects biodiversity.
Better Decision-Making Through Data - Modern sensors and systems collect key real-time data from the field. Farmers have access to detailed information to plan seeding, fertilizing, harvesting, and pest control.
Resilience to Climate Change - Smart technologies help farmers respond more effectively to drought, extreme weather, and pest outbreaks. This enhances yield stability, even under challenging climate conditions.
Transparency and Control - Smart farming enables traceability throughout the entire production process — from planting to harvest. Buyers of agricultural products can be confident that the food comes from sustainable and well-managed agriculture.
