Minerals Brno: A Collector’s Paradise, Shopping and Experiences for the Whole Family

The international sales exhibition of minerals, fossils, jewellery and natural objects MINERALS BRNO will take place at the Brno Exhibition Centre from 16 to 17 May, with Hall B completely filled. MINERALS BRNO is an excellent tip for a May weekend day out for the whole family.

Visitors can look forward to the full range known from previous editions – from minerals and products made from them, collectible stones, jewellery, natural objects and decorations, to home accessories, functional items and esoterica. Traditionally, Minerals Brno is not only a great place for shopping, but also a venue where you can spend a pleasant day full of discovery and fun.

This exhibition at the Brno Exhibition Centre is celebrating its 52nd edition and over the years has become the largest event of its kind in the Czech Republic. The current edition will feature more than 270 exhibitors from 14 countries, offering plenty to see and buy. Minerals Brno is also an excellent opportunity to discover new activities and entertainment for all age groups, especially children.

Creativity and Discovery

The world of inanimate nature will open up to visitors not only at stalls with stones, jewellery and other exhibits, but also in dedicated programme areas. These activities are designed primarily for children, but not exclusively for them.

A glimpse into mineralogical and paleontological science will be offered by the Brno Bioscope. At its stand, visitors can explore inanimate nature using microscopes and other scientific instruments, with experts on hand to provide detailed explanations. On the ground floor and the gallery level, visitors can also create their own jewellery or decorations, for example using the popular wire-wrapping technique.

Gold Panning

Part of the programme will take place outdoors in front of the pavilion, with gold panning being the most attractive activity. Children and adults alike can try working with a gold panning pan, washing away fine sand and sorting coarser material with glittering gold flakes.

This activity clearly demonstrates the principles behind gold panning, develops patience and offers the joy of making a personal discovery – just as gold prospectors experienced for centuries. Outdoor activities will also include chiselling fossils out of blocks and other tasks that reflect the real work of geologists.
