October 14, 2026  /  1:41 PM

The international sales exhibition of minerals, fossils, jewelry and natural products, MINERALS BRNO, will take place at the Brno Exhibition Centre from 14 to 15 November in the fully occupied Hall B. MINERALS BRNO is a great tip for an enjoyable weekend outing for the whole family.

Visitors can look forward to the full range traditionally offered at previous editions, from minerals and mineral products, collectible stones, jewelry, natural products and decorations to home accessories, practical items, and esoteric goods. MINERALS BRNO is not only an excellent opportunity for Christmas gift shopping, but also a place where visitors can spend a pleasant day discovering, learning and having fun.

This year marks the 53rd edition of the exhibition, which has become the largest event of its kind in the Czech Republic. The current edition will feature 287 exhibitors from 14 countries, offering plenty to see and purchase. MINERALS BRNO is also an excellent opportunity to discover new interests and enjoy entertainment for all age groups, especially children.

Program for Children and Families

A rich accompanying program combining fun, creativity and learning about the world of minerals and fossils will be prepared for children and families.

Young visitors will be able to try:

  • Gold panning, where they can learn about the work of historic gold prospectors and discover how heavier minerals are separated from sand and gravel.
  • Fossil excavation from plaster blocks, introducing children to the work of paleontologists.
  • Quartz splitting, allowing them to explore the properties of one of the most common minerals.

Creative activities will also play a major role. Visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to:

  • Create original mandalas from natural materials.
  • Participate in a workshop making mineral trees, producing unique decorations from wire and colorful stones.

These activities help develop imagination, fine motor skills and an appreciation of natural materials, while providing visitors with a handmade souvenir to take home.

Exciting experiences will continue beyond the workshops. Children will have the chance to take photographs with a realistic dinosaur, one of the most popular attractions of previous editions. The program will offer not only an opportunity to admire minerals and gemstones, but also to actively explore, create and discover the world of geology in an engaging and entertaining way.

Special Exhibition

This year's accompanying exhibition, titled “Silicates II”, will focus on some of the most widespread and diverse minerals on Earth.

Visitors to the gallery in Hall B will see dozens of exceptional mineral specimens from Czech and international localities, ranging from well-known micas and feldspars to rare and highly prized collector minerals with unusual colors and crystal forms.

The exhibition will continue the theme introduced last year and demonstrate the remarkable diversity of silicates, which make up a significant portion of the Earth's crust.

Among the highlights will be:

  • Colorful gemstone varieties of spodumene
  • The blue minerals sodalite and lazurite
  • Bright green amazonite
  • Multicolored labradorite
  • Delicate snow-white formations of okenite, resembling tufts of cotton

Visitors will also see attractive zeolites with perfectly developed crystals, along with many other mineralogical rarities from the Czech Republic and around the world. Guided tours will also be available during the exhibition.
