BRNO PATCHWORK MEETING

The company HAIŠMAN s.r.o. - Sewing Centre Haišman - the main partner of the Brno Patchwork Meeting, has been operating on the Czech market since 1990 and specializes in the sale of sewing/embroidery machines and overlockers/coverlocks, textile haberdashery, fabrics and everything needed for sewing.

I am concerned about the effects of fast fashion and the overproduction of textiles in general. I am trying, with the proverbial drop in the ocean, to reduce the amount of textile waste going to landfill and incinerators. With the motto: "Don't throw your shirt in the wheelie bin, throw it on the floor!" I started to process worn textiles and waste from knitting and weaving mills into dense, but washable, carpets, rugs, seat cushions.

We will bring to the BPM various fabric packages from the latest collections from TILDA or also from MODA Fabrics.

Founded in 1996, the textile art association Patchwork Gilde Austria is dedicated to promoting the art of patchwork and quilting and building a community of enthusiasts. With over 850 members both domestically and abroad, the guild represents a vibrant community that continuously evolves through regular meetings, such as the Austrian Quilting Day and Quilt in Public Day across the states.

We are a company that produces hand-twisted balls from unusual materials - merino, silk, linen, cotton or ramie. We also offer hand-dyed skeins, using only natural or professional dyes.

BPM has traditionally dedicated space to charity projects. This year the expo will also include the Debra Charity Bazaar, organised by Corpus delicious.

Danuše Březinová's company offers sewing and quilting machines, cotton fabrics and patchwork tools. The company is based in Ostrava and has been dealing with patchwork for 25 years.

SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates) is an international non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt, “a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references that form of stitch layered structure”. SAQA is dedicated to bringing beautiful, thought-provoking, cutting-edge, artwork to venues across the globe.

We are happy to invite you to join our new international project brought to you by HEDVA ČESKÝ BROKÁT and BVV Brno, the BPM organizer. Our regular visitors were used for many years to find a special collection made by authors from the whole Czech Republic based on a selection of fabrics brought to us from various exotic destinations. In 2023 we introduced a new project based on African brocades by Veba Broumov.

VierMa is a colourful world of cotton fabrics and ribbons by international designers such as Kaffe Fassett, Philip Jacobs, Brandon Mably, Tula Pink, Ruby Star Society, Anna Maria Horner, William Morris, Odile Bailloeul and more.
