Galerie Round Bobbin Collection - Susan Vogel

This exhibition is the result of the invitation challenge to the members of all the European Quilt Association (EQA) guilds in Europe. This challenge was organized on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Swiss Patchwork Association (patCHquilt). The invitation to this challenge went out to all European guilds in the European Quilt Association (EQA)and to everyone's surprise, many more stitchers that expected participated with enthusiasm.

16 European nations took part and over 400 works were created, which are currently being exhibited throughout Europe. 

This challenge required the creation of 35 textile squares corresponding to the years of our association's existence. Each square represents the materials traditionally given as a gifts for wedding years (1st year: paper, 25th year: silver, 35th year: coral). The aim was to produce 10 x 10 cm blocks that had to be assembled in a predetermined order on a strip of fabric with a maximum width of 12 cm and a length of approx. 350 cm. The exhibitions has about 14,000 individual images and has been warmly received at each exhibition.
