URBIS 2026: Three Days of Practical Solutions for Modern Cities

May 11, 2026  /  7:46 AM

The URBIS 2026 trade fair and conference, taking place on 2–4 June at the Brno Exhibition Centre, will offer municipalities of all sizes a concentrated mix of practical solutions, inspiration, and opportunities for cooperation. The entire event will be located in Pavilion V, where visitors will find two programme stages, exhibitor stands, and outdoor demonstrations of technologies in real operation. URBIS thus remains a unique platform where local governments can try out available tools firsthand and take away approaches that can be implemented without complex investments or administrative burden.

The first day will focus on key strategic topics – the future of metropolises, the main challenges of 2026, and practical steps in planning sustainable urban mobility. The 24-hour HackaTEEN hackathon will once again take place, bringing together pupils and students who will design smart solutions for real cities. Visitors will be able to watch innovations being created on site and gain insight into how the younger generation thinks about quality of life in cities.

The second day will offer a programme centred on digital innovation, agile project piloting, and the international ENoLL Living Labs concept. A special part of the day will be dedicated to security, focusing on the practical experience of municipal police forces, the Police of the Czech Republic, and local authorities. Discussions will cover the use of camera systems, crime prevention, the role of municipal police in crisis situations, and concrete projects linking transport, security, and technology. Exclusive data from the Ministry of the Interior will also be presented, summarising for the first time how municipalities in the Czech Republic use security technologies. In the evening, the ceremonial HackaTEEN Gala will take place, where the five best teams will present their final proposals.

The third day will focus on topics that can be implemented in municipalities immediately – pilot mobility projects, reuse centres, and modern financial tools such as crowdfunding and local currencies. Additional sessions will present energy solutions, 5G projects, and proven approaches to managing urban greenery and water.

URBIS also includes other accompanying conferences, such as Clean Mobility, Festivals as a Driver of the Economy, Image, Community and Innovation of Cities and Regions, Leaders in Public Administration, and School as a Driver of the Region.

URBIS 2026 thus delivers a clear message: modern technologies, smart approaches, and innovation do not have to be complicated. It is enough to know where to start – and ideally to be there in person at Pavilion V of the Brno Exhibition Centre from 2 to 4 June.
