After sixteen years, the most important Central European event in the field of water management is returning to the Brno Exhibition Centre. The international trade fair VOD-KA (WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE) will take place from 8 to 10 June 2027 and will now be organized by BVV Trade Fairs Brno. The main organizer is the Czech Water Supply and Sewerage Association (SOVAK ČR), with the Association of Water Companies of the Slovak Republic acting as the professional partner.
“The VOD-KA trade fair holds a firm position in both the Czech and European context and represents a strategic event for the entire water management sector. Our aim is to build on its history while further developing it to reflect the current needs of the industry and future challenges. We highly appreciate that this professional platform will once again take place at the Brno Exhibition Centre after many years. We believe that this venue will provide ideal conditions for the further development of the trade fair,” said Jan Kubata, CEO of BVV Trade Fairs Brno.
“The VOD-KA trade fair is the most prestigious event of its kind organized by our association. Our effort to ensure the best possible conditions for both exhibitors and visitors led us to renew our cooperation with the Brno Exhibition Centre. We are convinced that this change will be a positive impulse marking the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the exhibition,” emphasized Vilém Žák, Director and Board Member of SOVAK ČR.
“The connection of the VOD-KA trade fair with the AQUA trade fair held in Slovakia brings new opportunities for partners, exhibitors and the professional public to find the best of Czech and Slovak water management under one roof. It represents an effective combination of know how and expertise for modern water management in the heart of Europe,” said Miroslav Kundrík, President of the Association of Water Companies of the Slovak Republic.
The event is returning at a time when the sector is facing major challenges related to climate change, sustainable management and infrastructure modernization. Key topics of the upcoming edition will include modern water management technologies, efficient water use, energy efficiency of operations, and adaptation to climate change, including drought and torrential rainfall. Digitalization and the use of data in the management and operation of water infrastructure will also play an important role.
The trade fair is intended for a broad spectrum of professionals-from representatives of cities and municipalities and operators of VOD-KA systems, through designers, construction companies and technology suppliers, to investors, research institutions and academia.
At the same time, another major professional event will take place at the Brno Exhibition Centre-the URBIS trade fair, focused on smart solutions for cities and municipalities.
“The concurrent scheduling of both events is designed so that each trade fair functions fully within its own field, while at the same time allowing visitors and exhibitors natural thematic overlaps in the areas of infrastructure, urban management and modern technologies. The goal is to offer the professional public a concentration of key topics within one term, while maintaining the clear professional focus of both events,” added Kubata.
“The vast majority of water infrastructure in the Czech Republic is owned by cities and municipalities. Today, hardly anyone doubts the importance of its reliable and safe operation. However, what all must be done to ensure this and what technologies are commonly used in water management today is unfortunately not widely known outside the professional community. That is why we decided to link two programmatically different but factually closely connected trade fairs in terms of timing,” said Miloslav Vostrý, Chairman of the Board of SOVAK ČR.
The VOD-KA trade fair will traditionally include an accompanying program featuring conferences, thematic panels, seminars and networking events. There will also be awards for the best exhibits and exhibition stands, as well as a social program for exhibitors and the professional public. The program will further include a water utility skills competition and a popular photography contest.
The goal of the new concept is to strengthen the trade fair’s importance in the European context, support the sharing of experience across the sector, and offer the best possible platform for discussion on the future of water management under conditions of climatic and technological change.
