The Brno Exhibition Centre regularly hosts a wide range of sporting events. Organizers take advantage of both the indoor halls and outdoor areas to create sports venues, while benefiting from ample space for event operations, spectators, and parking. In early September 2026, the Exhibition Centre hosted the Women's European Volleyball Championship. Let's look back at this major event and revisit a selection of sporting occasions that have taken place at the venue over the years.

Women's European Volleyball Championship in Hall P

During the 2026 Women's European Volleyball Championship, Hall P was transformed into a fully equipped sports arena with a capacity of up to 5,000 spectators for nearly two weeks. It hosted 21 championship matches and provided complete facilities for national teams, media representatives, and visitors. Together with an outdoor fan zone and additional sporting activities across the Exhibition Centre grounds, the venue became a true European-scale volleyball festival.

The Exhibition Centre as Part of a Sporting Challenge – Urban Challenge 2017

The Urban Challenge 2017 presented the Brno Exhibition Centre from a completely different perspective. The five-kilometre course, featuring more than 25 obstacles, made direct use of the site's architecture and infrastructure. Over 1,300 participants tackled shipping containers, car roofs, and stairways inside the exhibition halls. The Exhibition Centre itself became an original sporting arena and an integral part of the challenge.

European Majorette Championship in Hall P

The Brno Exhibition Centre is capable of creating suitable conditions for a wide variety of sporting activities. In 2013, Hall P hosted the European Majorette Sport Championship, welcoming more than 3,000 competitors from 16 European countries. The spacious hall provided comprehensive facilities for competitions, training sessions, and the overall organization of a large international championship.

Hall B Transformed into a Tennis Arena

The exhibition halls at the Brno Exhibition Centre can be adapted to accommodate virtually any sporting venue. In February 2009, Hall B was converted into a full-scale tennis arena for the Fed Cup World Group First Round match between the Czech Republic and Spain. The excellent facilities created within the hall contributed to the atmosphere of this top-level sporting event, where the Czech team secured a 4:1 victory.
