At the OPTA 2026 trade fair, Medista will introduce Dr. Noon by Mediwhale – an advanced AI software that assesses individual cardiovascular risk from a retinal image within one minute and simultaneously alerts users to suspected serious eye diseases.
Dr. Noon enables opticians and clinics to expand their services with modern preventive screening for clients aged approximately 35+. The examination is fast, non-invasive, and provides a clear report that can become part of premium customer care.
The technology analyzes retinal vessels and other biomarkers visible on a fundus image. The output is a structured cardiovascular risk assessment along with screening for selected ocular pathologies such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataract.
The solution is compatible with most standard fundus cameras and is already being used at selected sites in the Czech Republic. In 2026, Medista is expanding its network of partner opticians who wish to offer clients an innovative preventive service with high added value.
