Precision Control for Every Application
The SUMAKE SMT Controller Series delivers outstanding fastening consistency with a repeatability of 3 Sigma ±5%. Depending on production requirements, different control methods are available:
- Torque & Angle Control – Available on SMT-C2 and SMT-C3, providing precise monitoring of both torque and rotational angle for critical fastening applications.
- Torque & Thread Control – Available on SMT-C1, enabling monitoring of fastening cycles to verify proper screw seating and tightening completion.
How Torque & Angle Control Prevents Floating Screws and Stripped Threads
- Floating Screw (Not Fully Seated)
A screw may reach the target torque before the parts are fully clamped together. By monitoring the rotation angle, the system can detect insufficient screw travel and immediately flag the fastening as abnormal.
- Stripped Thread
If the screw continues to rotate but cannot build enough torque, the thread may be damaged. The system detects this condition through excessive angle and insufficient torque, then stops the process and alerts the operator.
- More Consistent Clamp Force
Torque alone cannot guarantee a consistent clamping result. By monitoring both torque and angle, the system helps achieve more consistent clamp force from screw to screw, reducing assembly variation and improving product quality.
