CzechInvest, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic, has announced the launch of DEFENCE HUB, a strategic initiative designed to accelerate innovation and technological advancement in the areas of defense and dual-use technologies.
In response to the NATO DIANA initiative, DEFENCE HUB will serve as a central information and acceleration center, fostering collaboration among startups, established commercial entities, and state institutions. This dynamic platform will enable innovators to develop cutting-edge solutions that address critical defense challenges and promote economic growth through dual-use applications.
DEFENCE HUB operates on two fundamental pillars:
- Contact Point: The DEFENCE HUB team will proactively identify and promote relevant opportunities and grants at both national and European levels. This includes key initiatives such as DIANA, the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), and the European Defence Fund (EDF), along with other programs aimed at startup businesses. The HUB will also develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial and state entities in the defense sector, facilitating crucial connections within the Czech innovation landscape.
- Accelerator Preparation: A key function of DEFENCE HUB is to scout and support high-potential startups, guiding them through the application process for initiatives like NATO DIANA. In the future, DEFENCE HUB will play a pivotal role in operating the national DIANA Czechia accelerator, which will function as part of the broader NATO DIANA network.
DEFENCE HUB provides a comprehensive suite of services, including:
- Consultations: Expert guidance and support for startups and innovators.
- Events: Networking opportunities, workshops, and industry gatherings.
- Foreign Partners: Facilitating connections with international organizations and collaborators.
- Technology Incubation: Support for early-stage companies in developing and scaling their technologies.
