May 19, 2025 / 12:15 PM
After two years, the IDET International Defence and Security Technologies Fair will be held at the Brno Exhibition Centre from 28 to 30 May 2025. Together with the PYROS and ISET fairs, which focus on the presentation of firefighting, police and security equipment and services, it will highlight the latest technologies and trends in the defense industry to trade visitors from all over the world.
“Over the time of its existence, IDET has gained a prestigious position among international trade shows focused on the defense industry and therefore deserves an exceptional exhibition promoted by the Ministry of Defense. We will present visitors with the largest modernization of our army in its modern history currently underway. For example, the TITUS vehicle, the Leopard 2A4 tank, and the RBS-70NG missile system will be on display. Our state-owned enterprises and the University of Defense will also present their products. Of course, I look forward also to other expositions and demonstrations,” said Jana Černochová, Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic.
“The defense and security sector is currently undergoing dynamic development, driven by technological innovations and international cooperation. Thanks to this, a record number of exhibitors will gather at IDET 2025. I am pleased that some important premieres and novelties will also be displayed at the booths,”said Jan Kubata, CEO of Trade Fairs Brno.
In total, more than 650 companies from 34 countries will be presenting themselves at security fairs this year. The participation of a number of foreign delegations has also been confirmed, for example from Estonia, the Philippines, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Israel, Japan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and UK.
An expert partner of the IDET fair is traditionally the Defence and Security Industry Association of the Czech Republic (AOBP ČR). “The defense and security industry is the basis of the stability and sovereignty of the state. The IDET fair brings together representatives of companies, state administration and foreign partners, whose cooperation the AOBP ČR wants to actively support. I wish all participants of IDET 2025 beneficial meetings that will strengthen not only the Czech industry, but also our collective security,”stated Jiří Hynek, President of the AOBP ČR.

The companies ELBIT SYSTEMS, HONEYWELL, IAI – Israel Aerospace Industries, KNDS, LOCKHEED MARTIN or PATRIA will also present their innovations at the expo. The extensive INDIA PAVILION or presentations of Hungary, Austria or Slovakia will also be attractive.
Exposition of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of the Czech Republic: Connection Means Strength
The Ministry of Defense and the Army of the Czech Republic are once again among the key exhibitors at the IDET fair this year. The exposition will offer an overview of the current shape and future direction of the Army of the Czech Republic, which has been undergoing fundamental modernization recently.
“Security fairs such as IDET significantly contribute to the deepening of military-civilian cooperation. Today, the defense of the state is not just a matter of the army – it requires the involvement of the entire society. Experience from crisis situations, such as last year’s floods, clearly shows us how crucial a role resilient and reliable communication plays. That is why the role of communications troops is absolutely irreplaceable – they enable coordination and effective deployment of forces even in conditions of outage of conventional networks,” said Brigadier General Petr Šnajdárek, Director of the KIS Section of the Ministry of Defense.
Visitors can look forward to the presentation of military equipment, including TITUS armored vehicles, Leopard 2A4 tanks, and advanced STARKOM and DPET communication systems. An exceptional feature of this year's display will be the premiere demonstrations of equipment that the Czech Army is newly including in its armament. In addition to the equipment, the exhibition will also present other parts of the Defense Ministry. Visitors will learn about the activities of the Central Military Hospital, the Military Health Insurance Company, and the Military Solidarity Fund. Four state-owned enterprises will be represented – LOM PRAHA, the Military Technical Institute, the Military Research Institute, and VOP CZ.
Space will also be dedicated to the University of Defense and its projects in the field of research and development, especially in the segment of unmanned and autonomous vehicles. The motto "Connection Means Strength " captures the idea of this year's exposition. Successful defense of the state does not rely only on weapons and technologies, but chiefly on cooperation – between the army, the defense industry, the academic community, and the general public.
World premiere of the Pandur 8x8 EVO combat vehicle and CSG as a partner of the expo
One of the main attractions will be the world premiere of the Pandur 8x8 EVO wheeled armored infantry vehicle from Tatra Defence Vehicle. It will be on display at the stand of Czechoslovak Group (CSG), which has become the general partner of the expo this year. The Pandur 8x8 EVO is a vehicle generation, which provides high passive and active protection of the crew and vehicle, cutting-edge electronic and communication equipment, several types of combat turrets with effective armament and modern target detection and targeting systems, or a powerful propulsion system.
Important news and premieres of security fairs
Visitors can also look forward to other important news. The third generation of CZ BREN rifles from Česká zbrojovka will have its Czech premiere at the fair. The Czech company LPP is preparing to unveil a new product at the fair that changes the status quo of flight navigation of unmanned aircraft systems. At the same time, it will introduce its new HORNET unmanned aircraft with fully autonomous navigation. EVPÚ Defence will present news from its GLADIUS product line.
The new Enforcer-X shoulder-launched guided missile produced by the European company MBDA will be on display at the GLOMEX Military Supplies stand together with an evolutionary modification of the Toyota Hilux marked Chamois. This vehicle with a 12.7 mm weapon station allows passage even over the most demanding terrain. The Czech technology group TRL Space will present a unique solution for monitoring and border protection. MESIT will publicly present for the first time its new M20 headset for military and tactical use.
At the PYROS fair, the KALAN modular amphibious vehicle from the Czech company New Space Technologies will have its world premiere, allowing the rescue team and equipment to be delivered where they are needed.
New projects at IDET 2025
The defense industry is at a crucial point where innovation and advanced technologies are crucial for future readiness and success. IDET 2025 will also include topics such as space defense, start-up communities, and 3D technologies. The fair will include a comprehensive separate area for space defense and start-ups with the subtitle Space Defense and Start-Up, which will serve as a specialized platform for companies developing cutting-edge technologies in the field of space security and will support partnerships between emerging companies and established industry players. It will also provide a space for sharing experiences through a conference called “Defending Europe Together”, which will take place on 28 and 29 May. The conference is co-organized by the Czech DEPO Ventures and the Lithuanian BSV Ventures and together connects the innovative environment from the Baltics and Ukraine with the Czech ecosystem.
The development of additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, has opened up completely innovative design possibilities for the industry. The highlighted topic of 3D technologies this year will show how effectively the defense industry uses these innovations. Therefore, the first run of the 3D-ARMY annual expert meeting will take place on 29 May. Its central topic is the use of 3D printing for the development and production of weapons, drones, and military equipment. Valuable experience from implemented projects in the defense sector will be presented here by experts from the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Spain, and Israel.
Off-road polygon and specialist extra programme
The Brno Exhibition Centre offers a unique opportunity to present heavy equipment in action, which is highly appreciated by exhibitors and visitors. Therefore, this year too, the IDET ARENA off-road polygon will be featured, with dynamic demonstrations of military, firefighting and police equipment or simulated intervention actions of various units. A novelty at the IDET ARENA will be a joint project of the University of Defense and the company 3DFENSE, which will demonstrate the production and assembly of UAV systems directly on site in a production container. Two major conferences organized by the University of Defense will also take place throughout the expo – the International Conference on Military Technology, and the International Conference Defence & Strategy.
