Strima Czech s.r.o. is one of the leading suppliers of sewing technology for both households and professional workshops. At Brno Patchwork Meeting, company director Martin Zubatý presented a wide portfolio of domestic and industrial sewing machines, the latest innovations from Texi and Janome, as well as courses, servicing, and expert consulting. “Everyone could find exactly what they needed here,” he said.

One of the main attractions of this year’s exhibition were the new domestic sewing machines. Among them was the Texi Tango model, featuring 180 sewing programmes, a large touchscreen display, and intuitive controls. Another highlight was the Texi Tango Duo - a combined sewing and embroidery machine that connected home sewing with creative embroidery possibilities.

Alongside the domestic models, industrial sewing machines also attracted significant interest. According to Martin Zubatý, more and more customers are moving from hobby patchwork towards small-scale garment production and professional sewing. “We had single-needle industrial machines with bottom feed, needle feed, and walking foot feed for heavy sewing. There were also overlocks, coverlocks, and multi-needle embroidery machines with large hoops. Everyone could try the machines and even bring their own materials,” explained Martin Zubatý.

According to him, the opportunity to test the machines personally was essential. Customers could directly experience how the machines worked and receive recommendations tailored to their specific needs – whether for home sewing, patchwork, or professional production.

es not only in the Czech Republic but also in Slovakia. In the Czech Republic, customers know the company mainly through the e-shop www.sicistroje-shop.cz, while in Slovakia it operates under www.sijacie-stroje-patchwork.sk. The product range extends far beyond sewing machines alone.

Customers can find more than one hundred thousand products on our websites – from sewing machines to needles, presser feet, spare parts, and complete accessories. We also represent the Ariadna brand with high-quality threads, and altogether we offer products from 146 brands from around the world,” added Martin Zubatý. It is therefore no surprise that Strima won the ShopRoku 2024 and 2025 awards in the Sewing Machines category in both the Czech and Slovak Republics.

One of the company’s strongest assets is its service support, which is crucial in this field. The company headquarters are based in Brno, where Strima provides technical support and servicing, while a 350-square-metre showroom also operates in Prague. “We are among the few companies able to service highly specialised electronic sewing and embroidery machines, including industrial models and machines from other brands. That is often a deciding factor for customers.”

The company also offers sewing courses held in Brno, Prague, and as weekend workshop retreats. Participants learn not only basic machine operation, but also how to work with overlocks, coverlocks, and specific sewing techniques. “Today, the main participants are from the younger and middle generations who want to learn something practical. These are no longer only patchwork courses – people want to sew their own dresses, blouses, cushions, or simply learn how to alter clothing at home.

According to Martin Zubatý, there is growing interest in practicality and independence – the ability to create something personal, original, and exactly according to one’s own ideas.

During the exhibition, visitors could also take advantage of special discount vouchers – ten percent off Texi and Janome sewing machines and twenty percent off Ariadna threads and fabrics from the company’s selection.
