The International Trade Fair for Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Energy is returning to the Brno Exhibition Center after a year, now managed by BVV Trade Fairs Brno. It will take place from 17 to 19 March 2026, promising to present important names in the fields of electrical engineering and energy and new programme formats. A total of 468 companies from 32 countries will be featured, over 40% of them coming from abroad.
“We understand AMPER as a natural extension of our portfolio of industrial and technology trade fairs. Electrical engineering, electronics and energy are today closely connected with industry, automation and digitalisation. Our ambition is to systematically advance the trade fair, to address the target group with decision-making powers even more strongly and to direct it towards higher business relevance,” said Jan Kubata, CEO of BVV Trade Fairs Brno.
Great names are back – after years of absence
One of the most visible signs of change is the return of major brands that have been absent from the fair in recent years. ABB is returning to AMPER, showcasing innovations focused on cybersecurity, energy savings and the reliability of electrical networks. In its domestic premiere, it will present an air circuit breaker that meets the strictest cybersecurity requirements. Visitors can give it a practical try right at the exhibition booth thanks to virtual reality.
The electrical installation sector will have an exceptionally strong presence at the expo this year. With the aim of showing how a connected ecosystem of software, data and automation can actually increase the efficiency of industrial processes, Rittal and Eplan, which last exhibited in 2022, are also returning to AMPER. Schneider Electric also had a similarly long break, and Hager is returning to the fair after twelve years.
After a year-long break, Balluff, Turck and Murrelektronik will also be presenting themselves, which will significantly strengthen the area of industrial automation.
“We are pleased that we have managed to bring back big names that have been absent from the fair for some time. The return of these companies is also a major commitment for us for the future. It shows that AMPER is regaining the trust of major market players,” said Lukáš Helan, CCO of BVV Trade Fairs Brno.
In addition to the return of established brands, the fair will also be enriched by significant premiere participation. One of the key new exhibitors is the company Innomotics, which will focus on modern electric drives and their contribution to efficient and sustainable industry. The strong representation of the energy topic will be newly strengthened by the companies Hitachi Energy, Emaldo and Onergy Power.
Other big names across industries will also be represented at this year's AMPER fair, such as OBO Bettermann, Ray Service, Hennlich, MINYX servis, Trafo CZ, MP elektronik technologie, Ecoled by EXX, Megger CZ, KOČÍ VN, SVK Elektronik, Minalox, TEDOM, PBT Rožnov, Sensit, Labara, Silent Czech, Harting, Komax, GENTEC CHP or OHLA ŽS.
Programme news: broader scope and greater interaction
AMPER 2026 also wants to fulfill its ambition to strengthen its professional significance and business relevance by significantly expanding the extra programme. It now has a broader thematic scope and at the same time a greater emphasis on interactive formats – discussions, workshops and networking between experts from practice. The extra programme thus complements the exhibition part of the fair with a content framework that responds to current challenges in industry, energy and construction.
AMPER STAGE: three days of key topics
The central focus of the programme innovations will be the AMPER STAGE in Hall P, which will offer a thematically structured programme for three days. The partner of the thematic blocks is the Electrical and Electronic Association of the Czech Republic, the university partner is the Brno University of Technology.
“Electrical engineering for the next decade – that is the central theme of the three-day programme at AMPER STAGE. Its goal is not only to discuss current topics that these fields are currently addressing with experts focused on electronics, electrical engineering and energy. The application sphere is also very important for us, which will implement our products and advanced technical solutions in other industrial sectors or services in the coming years. The programme is also prepared for these visitors,” said Jiří Holoubek, President of the Electrical and Electronic Association of the Czech Republic.
The first day is dedicated to cybersecurity. Discussions will touch on threats associated with digitalisation, infrastructure security and supply chain protection. Real-life examples will be used to demonstrate, for example, a cyber attack, including authentic communication with extortionists.
The second day will focus on energy and industrial efficiency – from decentralized energy production and battery storage to electricity quality and the issue of energy self-sufficiency of companies.
The third day will open the topic of the digital transformation of Czech industry, including the realistic use of artificial intelligence and building AI competencies in companies.
Aside these strategic blocks, AMPER STAGE will also offer additional topics. The programme will include, for example, a workshop titled "Smart Household for Everyone" with Pepa Libický, focused on affordable solutions for modern electrical installations. An interesting expert panel will discuss modular and prefabricated construction with integrated smart installation, which reflects the pressure on speed, efficiency and the shortage of skilled workforce in the construction industry.
Smart Industry as a new feature
The SMART INDUSTRY – AMPER EDITION manufacturing conference will take place on the very first day of the expo. It will open up a view of the economic potential of individual industry segments or the principle of “dual use” of technologies – such as the question of whether new technologies will hold up not only in narrowly defined segments, but also in broader industrial use. In addition to personalities from the ranks of senior executives of technical companies, the main speakers of the conference will include, for example, the renowned economist Lukáš Kovanda or Michal Nevěřil from PwC ČR. The event is organized by Trade Media International, Pocket Virtuality and CSG.
In addition to the conference itself, Smart Industry will also offer an exhibition in Hall P, which will be accessible throughout the fair. On an area of 180 square meters, visitors will find specific solutions in the areas of digitalisation of maintenance, work with data, advanced visualisations, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. At the same time, they will be able to try out an unconventional form of technology presentation – a table football match with automation technology from B&R.
“The Smart Industry project was created as a long-term initiative focused on educating the market and supporting the modernisation of industrial companies. The goal is to open up the topics of digitalisation, automation and working with data in industry not only from a technological, but primarily from a managerial and strategic perspective. Therefore, we see the inclusion of the project at the AMPER fair as a logical connection and at the same time as a special stop for the project within its programme this year,” said Lukáš Smelík from Trade Media International on behalf of the project organisers.
DronyX – a new topic with practical demonstrations
Another novelty is the DronyX conference, which appears at the AMPER fair for the first time and reflects the growing role of unmanned technologies in the field of inspections, monitoring, industrial logistics and security. The conference takes place on Wednesday 18 March, offering both a strategic overview of trends in drone solutions and specific examples of their use in practice. The DronyX project will also include a drone exhibition in Hall P.
Organized networking and industrial design
The expanded programme of the AMPER fair is complemented by a new feature in the area of targeted business networking. The Contact-Contract project brings structured networking that will enable pre-planned B2B meetings between manufacturers, suppliers, integrators and investors. Contact-Contract works with controlled matchmaking and moves the expo towards a platform for effective and targeted business meetings.
Another new feature of the 2026 edition is the Industrial Design Award, which aims to highlight quality technical solutions not only in terms of performance, but also in terms of design, ergonomics and user experience. The inclusion of this award underlines the fair's ambition to move the discussion about the quality of technical solutions into a broader context - towards responsible development and higher added value. A panel discussion organized by the CzechTrade Design Center, which will take place on Wednesday at the AMPER STAGE, will also discuss industrial design and its role in today's electrical industry.
On the first day of the fair, the best fair exhibits will also be awarded in the Gold AMPER competition, which also includes a special student section.
AMPER E-MOBILITY will offer new products and test drives
An important part of the expo is also the AMPER E-MOBILITY section. Electromobility is presented here as part of a broader energy transformation – from charging infrastructure to energy consumption management to the integration of electromobility into company fleets and urban mobility.
The area will present the latest electric cars from brands such as AUDI, BMW, CHERY, FARIZON, FIAT, IVECO, KIA, MERCEDES-BENZ, RIVIAN, SUZUKI, ŠKODA, TESLA, WULING, and XPENG. Škoda Elroq, winner of the prestigious Car of the Year 2026 award in the Czech Republic, will also be exhibited here.
The section will include test drives with a reservation system and a consulting center focused on electromobility. This year's new feature is the E-STAGE with lectures and discussions. It will focus, for example, on after-warranty service for electric cars, the development of technician training, and the experience of the Tábor Municipal Police, which was the first in the country to start using Tesla Y cars. On Thursday, Michal Žďárský from the Janík Motorsport team, winner of the Czech Republic ecoRally championship, will also appear on stage, as will Marek Tomšík, who drove an electric car beyond the Arctic Circle and back.
Space for the future of the industry
In addition to established brands and new technological topics, research and education will also have their place at the fair. A total of seven Czech and Slovak universities will be presented in the area called Innovation Hub, which will present their applied research and specific projects connected to industrial practice. The presented solutions focus, for example, on the space technology sector or the use of digital twins.
Open 5G Hub Brno
During AMPER, the Open 5G Hub Brno project will be presented for the first time, combining research, industry and the application sphere in the field of private 5G networks and advanced communication technologies. The presentation will also include the introduction of a new private 5G network at the Brno Exhibition Center, which was built by T-Mobile. The introduction of 5G connectivity directly on the site of the exhibition center also underlines the effort of industrial trade fairs to become not only places for presenting technologies, but also a live platform for their practical testing and deployment.
