Robotic Coating Made Accessible: ITS Showcases a No-Programming Solution: ITS to Demonstrate Programming-Free Robotic Coating at MSV 2026
July 10, 2026 / 3:55 PM
How can you teach a robot to coat a new product in just a few minutes—without a programmer and without any knowledge of robot programming languages? ITS will answer this question at the International Engineering Fair MSV 2026, Hall A1, Stand 041. Visitors will experience a live demonstration of ArtiCoating® combined with RoboTwin®, introducing a completely new approach to robotic coating programming by simply demonstrating the desired motion to the robot.
The Robot Learns from the Operator
Traditional robotic coating is often associated with complex programming, lengthy production downtime during product changeovers, and dependence on specialized robot programmers. ITS offers a solution that fundamentally changes this approach.
The operator simply guides the robot manually along the required coating path. The system records the movement and automatically converts it into a robot program. All processing takes place directly within the HiVision control system developed by ITS, without the need for an external computer, USB devices, or data export.
As a result, a new coating application can be prepared in just a few minutes. If the trajectory needs to be modified, the operator simply demonstrates the new movement again—no programming code needs to be edited.
What Makes This Solution Unique?
The uniqueness of the solution lies in combining intuitive robot teaching with intelligent control of the coating process. ArtiCoating® not only automatically generates the robot trajectory but also manages the entire coating process, optimizing coating quality and application consistency.
Unlike conventional systems, there is no need for external software or complex offline programming. Everything is created directly at the workstation, significantly accelerating production changeovers while minimizing downtime.
The solution is suitable for both powder and liquid coating, making it ideal for small production batches, custom manufacturing, and operations with frequent product changes. Thanks to the intuitive HiVision interface and compatibility with ATEX environments, it can be deployed across a wide range of industrial applications.
Which Customer Challenges Does It Solve?
Manufacturers today face increasing demands for production flexibility, shortages of skilled workers, and constant pressure to improve productivity. While robotic coating offers significant advantages, its adoption is often limited by the complexity of robot programming.
ArtiCoating® and RoboTwin® eliminate this barrier. They enable rapid robot reconfiguration for new products, reduce the time required to launch new production orders, and transfer the operator's expertise directly into the robotic application. Companies benefit from greater manufacturing flexibility, consistently high coating quality, and much simpler operation of robotic coating cells.
As Martin Šátek, Head of Research and Development at ITS, explains:
"We integrate the ArtiCoating robotic system into existing coating lines within just a few days, making it a practical solution for a wide range of manufacturing operations."
Why Visit the ITS Stand?
Visitors to the ITS stand will be able to experience the complete workflow in real time—from manually guiding the robot, through automatic program generation, to the robot performing the coating process.
The exhibit will feature:
- Live demonstrations of ArtiCoating® and RoboTwin®
- One-on-one consultations with ITS specialists about specific manufacturing applications
- Presentations of complete robotic coating automation solutions
ITS will also showcase its expertise in the design, manufacturing, and integration of turnkey coating lines, supported by its own development center and the accredited SQI laboratory, specializing in testing and validating surface coating quality.
