Humanoids, robot dogs and artificial intelligence. MSV 2026 reveals what the technologies of the future will look like

September 29, 2026  /  10:00 AM

Humanoid robots, artificial intelligence, autonomous robot dogs, drones, smart glasses and digital twins of entire factories. This year’s International Engineering Fair will feature technologies that seemed like science fiction just a few years ago but are now gradually moving into real-world operation. From 6 to 9 October, 1,379 companies from 39 countries will exhibit at the Brno Exhibition Centre. Alongside traditional engineering technologies, one of this year’s key themes will be connecting people, robots, artificial intelligence and data.

The International Engineering Fair has long been the most important industrial event in Central Europe. Its 67th edition will show the growing role that software, digitalisation, robotics, virtual environments and technologies capable of responding independently to their surroundings play in today’s industry.

Humanoid robots are coming to factories

One of the most prominent themes of this year’s event will be humanoid robotics. Robots whose structure resembles the human body are gradually moving from research laboratories towards practical applications.

Their advantage is that they can move within environments originally designed for people: they can use conventional workspaces, handle objects or work at a workbench.

This year’s MSV will feature several types of humanoid robots, demonstrating different approaches to their practical use. Visitors will be able to meet, for example, a humanoid designed for direct interaction with people, robots being developed for industrial environments, and George, the first Czech humanoid heading into industrial operations. Integra Robotics will present the AGIBOT X2 Ultra humanoid robot in a live demonstration of flexible handling. Experts from the Interdisciplinary Centre for Humanoid Robotics at CIIRC ČVUT (Interdisciplinární centrum humanoidní robotiky) will also present opportunities for the practical deployment of humanoids and show where these technologies can already provide real value today.

Artificial intelligence is moving from computers into factories

Artificial intelligence will also be a major theme at this year’s MSV. In industry, it already helps with tasks such as analysing large volumes of data, monitoring production, predicting faults and controlling complex processes.

One of the main hubs for technological innovations will be Digitální továrna 2.0. Visitors will see people working alongside robots, industrial artificial intelligence, digital twins of machines and entire businesses, 5G communications and virtual industrial environments.

A digital twin makes it possible to create a virtual copy of a real machine, production line or entire factory. This allows companies to test certain changes in a digital environment before implementing them in the real world.

These technologies are not intended simply to replace people. A robot can take over physically demanding or repetitive tasks, while artificial intelligence can help people assess information and make decisions more quickly.

Robot dogs, drones, smart glasses and a massage robot

The fair will feature, for example, autonomous robot dogs and drones taking part in a demonstration of a modern firefighting operation. Also on display will be a massage robot, smart glasses that can be used for translation or remote support, and the latest Škoda Auto Peaq model.

The ROBOTY joint exhibition in Hall P will also present modern robotics. Alongside automated production cells and robotic systems, visitors will be able to try a less conventional contest with technology: a FANUC robot will challenge them to the strategy game Nim.

From technological innovations to the biggest issues in industry

Although new technologies will be a prominent feature of this year’s fair, MSV retains its traditional role as a meeting point for Czech and global industry. Together with the IMT, PLASTEX, WELDING, FOND-EX and PROFINTECH fairs, it will connect manufacturing, machining, welding, foundry technology and plastics processing with automation, robotics, digitalisation, logistics and other modern technologies. Companies, trade delegations and experts from dozens of countries will come to Brno.
