Czech humanoid George makes its first appearance in metal at MSV 2026

Conventional automation pays off in large series and stable processes. Where batches are small and products change often, building dedicated equipment does not pay off, so the work is still done by people, who are increasingly hard to find. Yet the vast majority of workstations, tools, handles and control panels are designed for humans. That is why George can be deployed without rebuilding the workplace and can switch between different operations without reconfiguring the line.

George is not meant to be a social robot or a marketing attraction. The developers focus on reliability, repeatability and easy integration into existing operations. The robot’s movements are not programmed as a whole but composed of individual skills, such as grasping, transferring or aligning a part. These are managed by the GeorgeOS platform, which combines an operating system for humanoids and portable skills. GeorgeOS will not be tied to George alone: in the future, it will also be deployable on humanoid robots from other manufacturers.

The metal build is the third version of the robot. It follows the 65 cm balancing robot from 2025 and a large plastic prototype on which the team validated motion and control. George has two arms, and both universal and specialised grippers are being developed for different tasks. Robot George develops the mechanics, kinematics and control electronics in-house. The robot is built entirely in Europe, designed around European safety standards and backed by local service.

George is designed for manufacturing and logistics, for example machine tending, bin picking, line-side material handling, inspection and sorting, palletizing and unloading.

“Presenting the metal version at MSV is a major milestone for us. After a year of development, we are moving beyond prototypes into the next phase, one that takes George where he belongs: the factory floor. At the fair, we want to show that a humanoid for European factories can be built in the Czech Republic too,” says Zdeněk Huspenina, CEO of Robot George.

The Robot George team will be at the stand throughout the fair to answer questions about the robot and the GeorgeOS platform.
