Aeromobile vehicle AERO 4x4 at the Glomex MS booth

For the past six years, the Polish 6th Airborne Brigade has been operating a fleet of domestically produced AERO 4x4 airmobile vehicles (designated KAFAR AERO KHZJ7A). These vehicles are used for transporting troops, equipment, and supplies during airborne operations, as well as for towing various types of artillery weapons.
The AERO 4x4 is a modified Toyota Land Cruiser pickup, adapted for transport inside C-295 CASA and C-130 Hercules aircraft, as well as under helicopters. Aircraft with higher transport capacity, such as C-130 Hercules, also allow for air-drop with parachutes. For parachute deployment, the vehicle is placed on a PDS "V" 108 aluminum platform, measuring 12 feet (3.6 meters) in length. Due to the vehicle's total weight and the platform, two parachutes are used for the drop.
The vehicle has an empty weight of 1,800 kg and a maximum allowable weight of 3,500 kg. It is powered by a Toyota 1HZ 4.2-liter diesel engine with an output of 96 kW, coupled with a five-speed manual transmission. Its maximum speed is 100 km/h.
Polish paratroopers praise the AERO 4x4 for its lightweight construction—the cabin is open and made of aluminum profiles. They also appreciate several design features included in the project, such as hooks that facilitate securing the vehicle to landing platforms and two winches. Additionally, the vehicle can be equipped with various weapon systems, ranging from light machine guns to grenade launchers.
The AERO 4x4 is manufactured by a consortium of Polish companies, including KAFAR Bartłomiej Sztukiert, Hibneryt, Auto Podlasie, and Auto Special Modlniczka - Sobiesław Zasada. To date, the consortium has delivered a total of 80 vehicles and 120 specialized trailers to the Polish Army, amounting to approximately 260 million CZK.
The AERO 4x4 airmobile vehicle will be on display at the IDET 2025 exhibition at the Auto Podlasie booth within the GLOMEX Military Supplies exhibit (booth No. 002, Hall P).
