Brno Patchwork Meeting
International Textile Exhibition
The international textile exhibition Brno Patchwork Meeting is the largest show of combined textile techniques not only in our country, but also in Central and Eastern Europe. Until 2019, it took place in Prague and after a long pause, it continues from 2022 at the Brno Exhibition Center. Leading authors of the artistic wall quilt regularly take part in the exhibition. Thanks to the high number of exhibits and attendance of 5,000 people, the exhibition ranks 4th in Europe, and its level is rising year by year. On an area of 6,000 m 2 , more than 900 collections of mostly wall quilts (modern tapestries) from 400 authors from all over the world and a selection of original works from the Czech Republic are regularly presented. One third of the area is occupied by specialized stores, which offer a wide selection of fabrics, aids, textile accessories, sewing machines, lighting, beads, decorations and colors for textiles, a range of knitting yarns and designer clothes. Demonstrations of various techniques and mini-courses for beginners take place on many stands. The workshops are led by renowned domestic and foreign textile authors. The artistic director of the exhibition is still Mrs. Jana Štěrbová, whose creation of modern wall quilts is known not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. In addition to teaching and curatorial activities, he also participates in publishing the PPM Brno online Magazine. She is a member of BPK, SAQA, Patchwork Gilde Deutschland.

67th International Engineering Fair
The MSV International Engineering Fair is the most important industrial fair in Central Europe. The majority of visitors are professionals. Nearly 80% of those in attendance exert influence on business investment, and one third form part of the top management of their firms. All key fields of machinery and electrical engineering industry are represented, with primary focus on machining and forming. MSV’s spotlight is Industry 4.0 and Digital Factory, i.e. digitisation in production, one of the key trends of the innovation process. Other highlighted topics include the circular economy – management of material resources. This is a current trend which is a high-priority area of sustainable development as industry and trade adaptation will move forward in that direction. One unique component of the fair is an accompanying programme that includes specialist conferences, as well as seminars and workshops on current technical, commercial and economic issues.

International Engineering Fair
The IMT International Machine Tools Exhibition has been held concurrently with MSV in even years since 1998. As the largest event of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, it is organized with the support of CECIMO, the European Association of the Machine Tool Industry. 467 exhibiting companies from 18 countries attended the last IMT in 2018, with 54% coming from abroad – mostly from Germany and Italy. Almost one half of the exhibitors represented metalworking machines, followed by precision tools and forming machines.

International Welding Engineering Fair
WELDING has been held at the Brno Exhibition Centre since 1969. In 2018, there were 86 exhibiting companies from 10 countries participating, with more than one half of them from abroad. These figures have put WELDING in the position of the most important specialized welding technology expo in Central Europe. WELDING, with the participation of all leading companies in this industry, is a proven opportunity to present all technological innovations and more complex services to customers. Almost one third of exhibitors present themselves in the field of machines and equipment for flame welding, oxy-fuel and arc cutting. A large number of companies are featured, which also have additional auxiliary materials, components, machines and equipment for other welding, as well as robots, manipulators and accessories for welding. WELDING is held concurrently with the MSV International Engineering Fair and the IMT, FOND-EX, PROFINTECH and PLASTEX technology fairs.

International Plastics, Rubber and Composites Fair
The International Fair of Plastics, Rubber and Composites takes place at the Brno Exhibition Centre in even years concurrently with the MSV International Engineering Fair. In the Czech Republic, the plastics and rubber industry is well established and key customers of plastics manufacturers are the automotive, electrical and packaging industries. Interest in machines and production equipment, often tailored to the selected technology or a specific order, is high and this target customer group is addressed by the PLASTEX International Fair of Plastics, Rubber and Composites, which is the number one in this industry in the Czech Republic. 182 companies from 14 countries took part in its last season in 2018 and almost one half of the exhibitors presented machines and equipment for plastics and rubber processing.

International Surface Technology Fair
During the short period of its existence, the PROFINTECH International Trade Fair for Surface Technology has already achieved the position of number one on the Czech expo market in the field of surface treatment. These technologies impact on almost all fields of human activity, significantly increase the useful value of a product and thus its competitiveness on the market and its price. The justification of the specialized project was also confirmed by its last season, which was attended by 79 companies from 9 countries. Exhibitors also appreciate the combination of the event with other technology fairs within MSV and the resulting synergy effects. Most exhibitors are suppliers of equipment for surface cleaning and treatment, followed by companies presenting equipment for painting, enamelling and powder coating. According to a survey, trade visitors to this expo are active mainly in the fields of mechanical engineering, plastics, chemical industry and automotive.

The FOND-EX International Foundry Fair is an evergreen in the Brno's expo calendar. It has been held here since 1972, today as the third largest specialized foundry fair in the world and clearly the most important on the Central European market. FOND-EX is a place where foundry and modelling professionals from all over the region come to explore new machines and equipment and learn about advanced technologies and materials.
