Stäubli at MSV 2026: Efficient Production, Smarter Mold Changes and Modular Connectivity for the Future of Industry
July 2, 2026 / 9:39 AM
At the 2026 International Industrial Fair (MSV) in Brno, taking place in October, Stäubli will present its latest technology concepts designed to increase productivity, safety and manufacturing flexibility. In addition to proven solutions for the plastics industry, visitors will discover three key areas that address today’s manufacturing challenges, including the growing demand for efficiency, operational reliability and process optimization.
SMI Multi-Coupling: Small Tonnage, Big Impact
The first featured solution focuses on the SMI multi-coupling system, a compact multi-coupling designed primarily for smaller injection molding machines. SMI introduces a new approach to connecting temperature control circuits by combining up to four individual circuits into a single centralized, space-saving interface.
The result is a significant reduction in mold changeover time, elimination of connection errors and increased operational safety. Standardized connections reduce dependence on highly experienced operators and simplify employee training, which is particularly valuable in environments with frequent mold changes and short production runs. SMI supports consistent product quality, higher machine availability and a more sustainable manufacturing process over the long term.

QMC123: The Next Generation of Quick Mold Change Technology
The second key area is QMC123, an advanced magnetic clamping system for rapid mold changes. The technology utilizes electro-permanent magnets installed on both the fixed and moving platens of the molding machine. A short electrical pulse activates or deactivates the system, while the clamping force itself is generated by a permanent magnetic field, requiring no energy consumption during operation and maintaining safe mold retention even in the event of a power failure.
QMC123 combines a compact and robust magnetic platen design with Stäubli’s advanced control and safety technologies. The result is faster mold changes, enhanced operator safety and improved machine productivity. Suitable for a wide range of plastics processing applications—from automotive and medical manufacturing to consumer goods production—the solution enables flexible and efficient manufacturing in modern production environments.

Smart Config: Modular Connectivity for Assembly and Testing
The third featured solution is Smart Config, a modular multi-connection system for media transfer in assembly and testing applications, particularly within the automotive industry. The solution allows fluid and electrical connections to be integrated within a single interface for both manual and automated connection processes.
Smart Config enhances productivity through fast and secure connections, minimizes downtime and offers maximum flexibility thanks to its fully modular design. Its intuitive layout and durable components simplify maintenance and allow easy adaptation to changing production requirements. The concept also includes rapid solution configuration and transparent pricing available practically in real time.
