Smart Manufacturing Starts with Quality Data. Hexagon will show you, how to do it

At this year's International Engineering Fair (MSV 2026), the Hexagon booth will showcase technologies that help manufacturers accelerate quality control, automate measurement processes, and transform measurement data into actionable insights for more efficient production. Visitors will discover solutions ranging from laser trackers and portable metrology to stationary coordinate measuring machines and robotic 3D scanning.
The highlight of the Hexagon booth will be the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS800, a laser tracker with direct scanning capability. It is designed for fast inspection of large parts and assemblies, particularly where tactile measurement would be time-consuming. The ATS800 enables measurements on difficult-to-access features, such as elevated areas, without requiring the operator to move around the entire part. This significantly reduces inspection time and expands the possibilities for measuring large-scale components directly on the shop floor.
A key part of the Hexagon booth will also be its stationary metrology portfolio. MAESTRO is a coordinate measuring machine designed for maximum measurement productivity. Combining high-speed performance, automation features, and intuitive operation, it significantly reduces inspection time while maintaining outstanding accuracy and reliable results. It is ideally suited for inspecting machined and high-volume production parts, where throughput, repeatability, and process efficiency are critical.
The Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 will complement the laser tracker portfolio as a versatile solution for precise measurement, alignment, and guidance of large parts and assemblies. Equipped with a tactile probe, laser scanner, and full 6DoF measurement capability, it supports applications such as large-scale assembly, robot calibration, and production line alignment.
The Hexagon booth will also feature VISIUS, an optical measurement system designed for high-speed, non-contact inspection of 2D features. It offers a cost-effective solution for automating the inspection of small components, enabling dimensional verification within seconds while delivering high repeatability with minimal operator influence.
In the field of portable metrology, visitors will see the Absolute Arm, which is ready for measurement almost immediately after power-up, without warm-up time or referencing procedures. Within a single inspection routine, users can seamlessly combine tactile measurement and 3D scanning, significantly improving measurement efficiency directly on the shop floor.
A new feature of this year's Hexagon booth will be an automated inspection cell combining a collaborative robot with the ATLASCAN Max 3D scanner. The demonstration will show how 3D scanning can be integrated into automated quality control, delivering high measurement repeatability, stable results, and increased productivity in serial production.
The HYPERSCAN handheld 3D scanner will also be on display. It stands out for its exceptional scanning speed and its ability to perform reliable measurements even in unstable production environments. Thanks to its optical tracking technology, it also eliminates the need for reference targets, significantly reducing preparation time, particularly when measuring large components. It is ideally suited for quality inspection, product digitisation, and reverse engineering.
Beyond individual measurement technologies, Hexagon will demonstrate how metrology can be integrated into digital manufacturing workflows. Today, measurement data is no longer used solely to verify finished parts. It increasingly helps identify the root causes of deviations, optimise production processes, and reduce costly rework. Measurement data has therefore become a valuable source of information for improving manufacturing efficiency and competitiveness.
