MSV Gold Medal 2023 – seven awards for trade fair exhibits and one for the Nestor of nuclear energy

The prestigious MSV Gold Medal 2023 competition honours the most innovative exhibits displayed at the engineering fair. The ceremony of announcing the results and presenting the awards took place in the Rotunda of Hall A as part of the opening ceremony of MSV 2023.

This year, the results were decided by a fourteen-member expert committee led by Jiří Hlinka, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at BUT in Brno. Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Minister of Industry and Trade Jozef Síkela, Rector of BUT in Brno Ladislav Janiček and CEO of Trade Fairs Brno Jan Kubata presented the Gold Medals to the winners.

Innovation Demonstrably Created in Contractual Cooperation Of Companies With Research Organizations category:

Gold Medal for Lifetime Creative Technical Work and Innovative Achievements 2023:

This year's laureate is professor František Hezoučký, who has devoted his entire professional life to the development of Czech and Slovak nuclear energy, starting as early as 1966. He is the only person in this country who led and, as a director, also completed the construction of a nuclear power plant, specifically the Temelín NPP. He worked in Jaslovské Bohunice and was also the chief engineer during the start-up of all four nuclear units in the first Dukovany nuclear power plant.
