A contract worth €1.5 million made at the fair

The company ZKL Brno and the ZKL Group, the biggest manufacturer of large-size bearings in Central Europe, confirmed at the International Engineering Fair a purchase order for a new revolving grinder technology from the specialist French manufacturer Berthiez, which is a Starrag Group Holding company. The machine will be deployed in a demanding operation on grinding of bearings for wind turbines. Starrag Group CR collaborates with the company Ludačka Machine Tools. The contract is worth roughly €1.5 million, and the final placement of the bearing on the customer’s premises will be carried out in the third quarter of 2017.

Girish Shankar from the Indian ministry of heavy industry confirmed during today's Czech-Indian Business Forum at the International Engineering Fair that India intends to invest substantial financial resources into the development of its infrastructure by 2020. For Czech entrepreneurs it opens opportunities to participate, for example, in the construction of high-speed rail and road networks, construction of the subway in dozens of cities and public transport services and urban infrastructure, the building of airports and aviation industry, but also in other areas and sectors.

Slovakia shows the best of its engineering at MSV

The traditional Slovak National Day at MSV underlined the importance of the Brno trade fair for the presentation of Slovak industrial companies to foreign partners. The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries, embassies, the SARIO agency and Slovak industrial associations. At this year's MSV a total of 85 Slovak companies are exhibiting – a tenth more than last year – and the Slovak participation is highlighted in national exposition in Hall V.

Conferences on robotics and 3D printing

Nová média (New Media) publishing house organized two professional conferences at the International Engineering Fair in Brno. On the first day, there was a forum of industrial robotics, where the organizers of the focused for the first time on the idea of Robot and human on the same team. A day later, the attention was focused on 3D printing and trends linked with it, experience and business opportunities.

A Czech-Saxon workshop focused on Engineering 4.0

Over 270 exhibitors and nearly 500 brands from Germany participate in the International Engineering Fair in Brno. The main theme of the fair is Industry 4.0 - integrated and automated industry. This was also the focus of a Czech-Saxon workshop "Engineering 4.0" organized by the Czech-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ČNOPK) and the Society for the Support of Saxon Economic Development (Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen). "Participants include engineering companies, manufacturers and suppliers of machinery, there are five Saxon and fifty Czech companies represented," said Lucie Křetinová, Head of the Representation of the Saxon economy.

"Technology changes the industry and life," – this phrase was heard today during the introduction to the Czech - Chinese forum on trade and investment, which was held at the International Engineering Fair, attended by Chinese Ambassador Ma Keqing and with great interest of experts. The main objective of the forum was to create an environment for the exchange of information, gaining awareness of the key segments of possible cooperation and the establishment of specific contacts between Czech and Chinese companies through B2B meetings.

Business Day of the Russian Federation

Today, the Business Day of the Russian Federation took place in the Rotunda of Hall A – a traditional platform for the exchange of information and promotion of Czech-Russian business cooperation. The main organizer of the meeting, the Chamber for Economic Relations with the CIS, brings together 135 companies and business entities. Speeches at the outset of the Business Day were held by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jan Mládek and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Czech Republic Alexander Vladimirovich Zmeyevskyi; he spoke among other things about the formation of a Russian export centre that represents a new system of export support. Both have positively evaluated the cooperation between the two countries at regional level.

Seven MSV Gold Medals were awarded at the opening of the fair

The Rotunda of Hall A filled to the last place was the setting for a traditional ceremony, during which six exhibitors were honoured for their exceptional exhibits. The seventh Gold medal was, as in previous years, awarded to a prominent personality of Czechoslovak industry.

MSV 2016: China's largest ever exhibition space

Hall A1 of the Brno Exhibition Centre became China's national pavilion for the whole week. It is historically China's largest exhibition at the International Engineering Fair and a spectacular corporate presentation at European exhibitions ever. The preparation of the exhibition took six months and the main organizer - the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the International Chamber of Commerce in China (CCOIC) present more than seventy companies on an area of 3900 square meters, among them major companies from Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhejiang and other places.
