Slovakia shows the best of its engineering at MSV

The traditional Slovak National Day at MSV underlined the importance of the Brno trade fair for the presentation of Slovak industrial companies to foreign partners. The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries, embassies, the SARIO agency and Slovak industrial associations. At this year's MSV a total of 85 Slovak companies are exhibiting – a tenth more than last year – and the Slovak participation is highlighted in national exposition in Hall V.

"The Slovak National Day at MSV in Brno is a traditional event at a traditional fair. I would like to welcome especially those exhibitors who represent the best of what Slovakia may offer to foreign customers in the field of engineering," emphasized the ambassador of Slovakia to the Czech Republic Peter Weiss. At the same time he praised the growing quality level of the fair, which has been fulfilling the original idea of the Czechoslovak exhibition for 58 years. "For us in Slovakia it is obvious that we will always count on our participation in MSV. We are planning that in 2018, when we celebrate the centenary of the establishment of a joint state, the Slovak Republic will become the partner country of the fair," said the Slovak ambassador. Business ties between the two countries are still outstanding and in 2015 mutual trade turnover exceeded 19 billion euros.

During the opening of the Slovak National Day, Radovan Urban Kocák from the Department of bilateral cooperation of the Ministry of Economy SR recalled the positive development of the Slovak economy, where industry plays a significant role. Like the Czech government, the Slovak one also puts great emphasis on implementing the concept of Industry 4.0 as a way to ensure future competitiveness.

The Slovak national exhibition has been organized by the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development SARIO for the first time. They especially supported the presentation of small and medium enterprises, while large enterprises and traditional participants of the fair exhibited at their own individual stands. "All of the sectors of engineering and electrical industries are presented at MSV; these are key sectors for the Slovak economy, employing approximately 300,000 people. I believe that MSV will positively enhance further cooperation not only with Czech firms and will provide new business opportunities," said Josef Troják, Director of SARIO national projects. The exhibitors of the official Slovak exhibition in Hall V include manufacturers of electric motors EIBEN, a manufacturer of measuring instruments and special purpose machines EMSYST, producer of semi-automatic welding and plasma cutting equipment FORMICA or a Research Institute of Chemical Fibres.
