Siemens presents end-to-end digital solutions for machine tool world

PAV P 019

At the 2017 International Engineering Fair (MSV), Siemens is to present its extensive, integrated end-to-end portfolio of digital solutions for machine tools and manufacturing machines. With this unique offering, Siemens gives the manufactures a complete solution from the initial machine design over its construction up to the commissioning and service. The Siemens presentation is to showcase an integrated ecosystem for machine tools, which is currently being unique on the market.

Through concrete examples, Siemens is to demonstrate how machine tool users and manufacturers can benefit from digitalization and ways how they can significantly boost their production flexibility and efficiency, and drastically reduce their engineering input and time to market. All this while keeping or increasing the product quality.

Benefits of digitalization will be also presented on a prototype of a multi-tasking machining centre, MCU450, from Kovosvit MAS.

The new machine is designed for precise and fast machining of surfaces with complicated shapes and shapes in five axes and enables drilling, boring, reaming, threading and workpiece milling from five sides.

The MCU450 uses state-of-the-art software products, namely, Sinumerik Integrate which connect specific processing machines into higher systems and effectively use the collected data.

The prototype will be presented with Sinumerik Operate control screens in the new software version 4.8 that offers users a range of enhanced features, primarily with respect to speed, precision during machining. It is the first machine in the Czech Republic where the new software will be officially presented.
