International Engineering Fair

Contact – Contract Project sees 260 representatives of companies participating

The traditional two-day B2B platform Contact – Contract, organized by the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Brno, is again held at the International Engineering Fair in Brno. 262 companies participate in this year’s edition, 99 of them are Czech and the rest came from abroad. This was stated by Radek Kopecký from the Department of External Relations of the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Brno.

There will be a total of 600 meetings in the course of two days, together with other spontaneous meetings especially with exhibitors at this fair. Large delegations from Russia and Turkey came to this event, also traditionally attended by many representatives of companies from Slovakia and Germany. More than 20 exhibitors from India as well as entrepreneurs from Jordan are interested in meetings this year. Preparations for these meetings take place for almost a whole year, with intensive meetings being held for about six months.

"I think this year's event turned out very well; the ratio of Czech and foreign companies was balanced, and the added value of cross-border meetings was very high too," added Radek Kopecký, saying the event is intended both for visitors to the fair who use the comfort of their exhibition stand, and for exhibitors who can also hold their meetings at the stand. "Meetings are scheduled about a quarter of a year in advance when companies select appropriate negotiation partners from the catalogue of participants, and then a final schedule of meetings is prepared. Within two days’ time, companies are able to hold up to 27 meetings, thus they can effectively use their time spent at the fair. It is also an opportunity for the exhibitors to bring their customers and future partners with whom they share a theme and where the potential for business cooperation is possible," he added.

Contact - Contract is part of the Europe Enterprise Network project, supported by the European Commission and the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade. "It is a pan-European network for the support of cross-border cooperation, thanks to which we are able to bring to Brno many foreign companies, also from countries that are not among the traditional partners of Czech companies," confirmed Radek Kopecký.
