International Engineering Fair

MSV 2017 to present top industrial technology

Visitors to the 59th International Engineering Fair will be welcomed by a fully sold out exhibition centre. The interest in participation was enormous this year; this proves the excellent condition of the industrial production and the Czech economy. From among more than 1 600 exhibitors, half of them come from abroad; world market leaders will bring the best of their offer to Brno - from super-efficient cutting machines to industrial robots of the youngest generation.

High demand for MSV always indicates a very good state of the economy and positive expectations among companies. The Czech Republic achieved GDP growth of 4.5% in the second quarter of this year and is one of the fastest growing economies of the European Union. "Robust economic growth relies primarily on the results in industry, which is traditionally the driving force of the economy. Last year, industrial production has grown for the third year in a row, and this trend continues this year. Production of the processing sector increased by almost 6% in the first half of the year and the prospects for the coming months are also promising. Both current surveys among buyers and entrepreneurs as well as new industry orders show continued growth in the sector," says Minister of Industry and Trade Jiří Havlíček, who will support this year's MSV by several days of personal participation.

MSV 2017 has the same industry structure as two years ago, when some 1500 companies exhibited here, i.e. a hundred less than this year. The main theme is again Industry 4.0 and the AUTOMATION project. There are also two specialized trade fairs taking place – the 8th International Transport and Logistics Fair and the 2nd International Trade Fair for Environmental Technologies ENVITECH. In comparison with 2015, there is an increase among exhibitors of machine tools and moulding machines, who mainly head to Brno directly from the EMO Hannover World Exhibition and bring their brand new machinery exhibits. The field of plastics and chemistry processing for mechanical engineering has grown by a quarter, and there has been a significant increase in the interest of exhibitors in drives, electronics and engineering components. Therefore, all the halls of the Brno Exhibition Centre had been sold out several months before the fair, and the organizers of the most attractive halls P, V and F had to keep reject more applicants.

Half of the companies will come to exhibit from abroad and India marks its return after five years as MSV Partner Country and an economy with global significance and enormous potential. India will be represented by more than seventy industrial companies. Significant representation will also be provided by other Asian countries, with 70 companies coming from China, and 27 from Korea. For the first time, six Russian regions are present at the MSV, all with official exhibition stands and represented by leading industrial companies. European countries that are planning to participate collectively include France, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Spain and four German federal states.

All conference rooms of the Brno Exhibition Centre will be fully occupied during the fair too. A key event of the supporting programme, the Assembly of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic, will bring the Prime Minister and Ministers of the Czech government together with representatives of leading Czech companies on Monday afternoon. "The Czech economy is currently very successful. We owe the most to the industry that forms the basis of our economy. I am delighted that the best industrial companies are participating in the International Engineering Fair in Brno to present their cutting-edge technologies and innovative products," comments Jaroslav Hanák, President of the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic. The key events of the supporting programme include two conferences on Czech-Indian cooperation and Business Days of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and the Russian Regions.

There are two interesting innovations prepared for visitors. Through the MSV TOUR project, they can see the stands with technological innovations in pre-selected routes focused on Industry 4.0, Robotics and Automation. At the same time, the Brno Fair City project will start with many benefits for visitors to the city - from easier transport to special events in restaurants.
