International Engineering Fair

MSV 2017 aims for Industry 4.0, automation, environmental technology, transport and logistics

The Brno Exhibition Centre began preparations for the top event of the year. Already the 59th International Engineering Fair will be held on 9 to 13 October 2017, along with ENVITECH and Transport and Logistics fairs. The main topic will again focus on Industry 4.0, the fourth industrial revolution.

The organizers want to build on the very successful edition from the last year, which was visited by more than 84 000 visitors. The halls of the exhibition centre were sold out several months in advance and MSV 2016 became the largest industrial show since the outbreak of the economic crisis. The high interest in participation is also expected this year, when economic growth continues and the Czech industry continues to run at full speed. MSV 2017 additionally accentuates attractive topics such as robotics and digitization of industrial production, the introduction of technologies for environmental protection and advanced solutions for transportation and logistics.

"Many exhibitors have already ordered their exhibition space in advance and greater participation of companies from Asia is expected once again. We have invited India to be the partner country this time, while a very successful extensive presentation of China in the last year will be followed by the participation of several dozen Chinese companies who want to develop further business on the Central European market," says MSV director Jiří Rousek.

For the third time, MSV 2017 will turn attention to new trends in industrial production. Industry 4.0 brings intelligent communication of industrial equipment across the supply and production chains, which is closely related to the streamlining of transport and logistics. The biennial Transport and Logistics fair will take place for the eighth time and will present news in fields that are directly linked to the MSV. The international trade fair of technologies for environmental protection ENVITECH will enter its second year. Exhibitors will present their technology for purifying water and air, modern methods of waste processing technologies for reducing the environmental impact of industrial plants and more.

The structure of MSV itself remains unchanged and the fair is again divided into eight sectors representing all key areas of engineering and electrical industries. The main topic will focus on the cross-sectional Automation project – a presentation of measurement, control, automation and control technology across all disciplines. There are also specialized exhibition events highlighting 3D printing, robotics and cooperation between industry and universities (Technology Transfer and Innovation) in the pipeline. The trade fair will again include the Gold Medal competition for the best innovative exhibits, and an extensive supporting programme.

Last year's MSV in October 2016 was attended by 1704 exhibitors from 34 countries and 84210 visitors from 52 countries. Interest from abroad increased, since a whole half of the exhibitors came from other countries together with nearly 10% visitors. The increasing participant satisfaction is also important; it is regularly assessed during the fairs by the Ipsos research agency. In 2016, the share of satisfied exhibitors rose to 84% and the percentage of satisfied visitors reached even 86%. MSV participants thus clearly expressed the highest satisfaction with the fair for the past five years. Jan Humhej, Account Manager at Ipsos, says: "Last year's result confirms the growing satisfaction of MSV visitors and exhibitors. The participants highly appreciated the high professional level of the exhibition and also the presence of major companies in the industry; we are especially, pleased by the growing satisfaction of exhibitors."

The deadline linked with a price advantage is 31 March. The application form can be found here.
