India – the partner country and additional business opportunities at your fingertips


The partner country of the 59th MSV is India, one of the largest and fastest growing economies in the world. For Czech companies, therefore many opportunities arise to establish direct contacts in this perspective market. As part of the supporting program, the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic organizes a Czech-Indian Business Forum on Tuesday 10 October 10, to be followed by bilateral B2B meetings. On Wednesday 11 October, the CzechTrade Agency will present the Czech Business Incubator in India – Bangalore and the possibilities for Czech companies to join in.


A traditional opportunity to establish foreign contacts will be already in the first two days of the trade fair the event Contact-Contract 2017, which can also be used by exhibitors. This B2B contact platform serves participants from different countries to systematically search for new suppliers, customers and business partners. Meetings are scheduled in advance with partners according to the selected parameters and they are going on according to a fixed timetable, hence they are usually very fruitful.

The CzechTrade Agency regularly invites the directors of its foreign representations to the MSV, where people can arrange meetings with them. This year’s traditional Meeting Point CzechTrade will take place on Tuesday 10 October. On Wednesday there will also be a seminar on the topic of Supporting Industrial Design to Increase Competitiveness, Support of Foreign Trade Fairs. On the same day, the traditional event of the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic will be held: Round Table for Exporters - Building Business Teams Abroad.

Additional sideline events focus on specific territories. On Tuesday, the HST Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Czech Republic organizes Swiss Business Breakfast. The Chamber for Economic Relations with the CIS – a specialist on Eastern European markets – is preparing a shamrock of popular events: on Tuesday a Business Day of the Russian Federation, on Wednesday a Business Day of Belarus and on Thursday a Business Day of Ukraine. On Tuesday, the CzechTrade Agency organizes a seminar Exports to Germany, and the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic organizes a meeting on the topic of Doing Business with Cambodia and Laos. At the same time, the traditional Slovak National Day will be held; the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will give a clear overview of the changes expected in the context of the Brexit topic. On Wednesday, both ministers will also hold a seminar on the topic of Iran.

A number of international business opportunities will also be opened at the exhibition stands; in fact, the share of foreign exhibitors at the MSV has reached 50 percent in recent years. Most foreign companies are traditionally coming from Germany, whose federal states of Bavaria, Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony - Anhalt are moreover preparing their official collective displays again. The largest official foreign display is of course being prepared by the partner country India; it will occupy almost the entire Hall A1 and 150 Indian companies are expected to attend. Stands with official support from the government, ministry, or export promotion agency will be opened by China, Slovakia, France, Italy, Austria, Korea, Thailand and Poland.
