"Technology changes the industry and life," – this phrase was heard today during the introduction to the Czech - Chinese forum on trade and investment, which was held at the International Engineering Fair, attended by Chinese Ambassador Ma Keqing and with great interest of experts. The main objective of the forum was to create an environment for the exchange of information, gaining awareness of the key segments of possible cooperation and the establishment of specific contacts between Czech and Chinese companies through B2B meetings.

The title of the forum, Connecting "Made in China 2025" with "Czech Industry 4.0" picked up on initiatives and strategic documents of both countries, which constitute the framework for the future direction of companies and their products, technologies and services during the fourth industrial revolution – the so-called Industry 4.0 (this term refers to the current trend of digitization, in connection with the automation of production and changes in the labour market that it entails).

Opening of the Forum included the official presentation of the Chinese delegation, headed by the economic and commercial counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, Cheng Yongru. The Czech side was represented by officials from Czech ministries and institutions - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Jiri Havlicek, Deputy Foreign Minister Miloslav Stasek and president of the Confederation of Industry and Transport Jaroslav Hanak. Later, Chinese companies were presented in more detail, among them the Shaanxi Blower (Group) Co., Ltd. engineering company awarded with a Gold Medal yesterday, or Wanfeng Aviation Industry Co., Ltd., which came to the Czech Republic to establish cooperation in the production and design of light aircraft, parts and components for the aerospace industry or the control of airport operations. The second part of the forum focused on investment support and financing of mutual trade, while the conclusion of the meeting provided a space for networking and individual business meetings.
