ARBURG spol. s r.o.

A German family-owned company, Arburg, is one of the leading global manufacturers of plastic processing machines. The product portfolio encompasses Allrounder injection moulding machines with clamping forces of between 125 and 6,500 kN, the Freeformer  for industrial additive manufacturing and robotic systems, customer- and industry-specific turnkey solutions and further  peripherals. Arburg is represented by its own organisations at 33 locations in 25 countries and by trading partners in more than 50  countries. The machines are produced exclusively at the parent company in Lossburg, Germany. Of a total of roughly 2,700 employees, around 2,200 work in Germany. About 500 further employees work in Arburg’s organisations around the world. In  2012, Arburg became one of the first companies to gain triple certification: to ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and  ISO 50001 (Energy).

Industrial additive manufacturing
ARBURG offers the freeformer and ARBURG Plastic Freeforming (APF) for industrial additive manufacturing of functional parts. Individually produced plastic parts for consumer goods, medical implants and functional spare parts are just three of the many areas for which this open system is the ideal choice.

Processing qualified standard granulates
One major advantage of APF is that in enables low-cost qualified standard granulates to be processed into functional parts, either individually or in small batches. The original material is melted in a plasticising cylinder and then applies as tiny droplets to a part carrier moving on three axes. The freeformer can process e. g. TPE, PEI, PC/ABS with flame proofing, medical grade PLA, Bio-PA or PC approved for use in the aerospace industry. The build chamber is designed to accommodate a maximum of 154 x 134 x 230 millimetre parts.

Individualising large volume batches
Moreover, high-volume parts can be enhanced and customer wishes can be incorporated directly in the value chain by combining additive manufacturing, injection moulding and Industry 4.0 technologies.
