International Engineering Fair

The India Show opened its gates

The largest ever exhibition of Indian Industry in Central and Eastern Europe opened in hall Z today. The India Show which brings together 130 Indian companies was inaugurated by the Ministers of Industry and Commerce of both countries, Martin Kuba for the Czech Republic and Mr. Anand Sharma representing India.

Both ministers accompanied by a large delegation viewed the exhibition of Indian companies, which represent the entire spectrum of Indian machinery, from industry giants to medium and small producers. The former include companies such as ACE Group, the largest producer of machine tools in India which for the past thirty years supplied customers with more than 22,000 machines., They are presenting a Contur LT-12 turning lathe, a CNC machine of compact design with Fanuc control system in Brno; their goal is to find sales and service partners in Central and Eastern Europe.

The India Show is organized by the Association of Indian Machinery Manufacturers, EEPCA, which brings together fourteen thousand businesses. The range of Indian offers in Hall Z ranges from tractors by Hindustan Machine Tools to small engineering components, and confirms that Indian engineering today is experiencing rapid growth, particularly in small and medium enterprises. According to EEPCA representatives, the range of Indian engineering is already so broad that you can buy almost any engineering product, including the highly sophisticated ones. Many of them have been successfully exported, while 40% of Indian engineering exports head to the U.S. and EU markets, important customers also include the United Arab Emirates, China and Malaysia. By 2015, India plans to increase its engineering exports from the current 60 to 90 billion USD. Czech companies can thus acquire not only the raw materials and semi-products for their production from India, but also a number of attractive products with high sales potential in European markets. For all those interested in establishing business ties with this distant country,  information and interpretation services are provided in Hall Z.

A visiting by Indian Minister of Trade and Industry Mr. Anand Sharma will continue on Tuesday 11 September, when the 9th Meeting of the Czech-Indian Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation takes place at the Brno Exhibition Centre. On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Czech Export Bank and the Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank) will be signed, under the patronage of the Ministers of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and India.
