International Fair for Regional Tourism

Summary information about the fairs

Visitors to the Brno tourism fairs can expect not only a wide selection of tours from various travel agents, but each region will try to attract visitors to their area, where they can spend an unforgettable winter or summer holiday. GO and REGIONTOUR Fairs and the 20th jubilee GO CAMERA Festival will be held at the Brno Exhibition Centre from 19 to 22 January 2017.

Brno Trade Fairs GO and REGIONOUR are a useful opportunity to find inspiration for your summer holiday in the Czech Republic or abroad. According to a survey by the CzechTourism agency, about a third of Czechs spend summer holiday inland and another quarter combine domestic and foreign stays. At the fair, visitors will have the chance to get clear and detailed information about the tourist portfolio, with the additional option of selecting a specific product and purchasing it often under preferential conditions.

Hall P of the Brno Exhibition Centre will traditionally belong to the REGIONTOUR Fair. The area will be divided into segments, which will be dominated by the exhibition stands of individual regions or areas. A typical offer of a region is then further illustrated by NGOs and especially an area for their accompanying programme - musical performances, sports attractions or anything else. Visitors’ orientation in Hall P is facilitated by an internet guide and mobile applications.

The neighbouring Hall F will welcome exhibitors of the GO fairs. Regular participants include well-known travel agencies; national tourist boards which confirmed their participation include the Dominican Republic and Slovenia. There will also be a quality supporting programme on two stages conceived as a varied series of invitations to attractive foreign destinations.

This year's supporting programme highlights topics that have been present in the domestic tourism for a while. They include active tourism in the regions (According to a survey, 55% of trade fair visitors are interested in cycling and even 92% in hiking), followed by the cultural wealth of the regions, with emphasis on Baroque monuments and regional cuisine.

Visitors will surely not miss the 20th jubilee GO CAMERA Festival, which is the largest travellers’ meeting in this country with a four-day programme of screenings and discussions with well-known personalities. The main theme this year is the Himalayas.

RegFoodFest Gastronomy Festival
For the fifth time, the Festival of Regional Specialities and Regional Foods returns to the REGIONTOUR Fair. The project concentrates tastings of regional specialities from the Czech Republic and abroad in one place. Visitors can enjoy a range of cheeses, chocolates and other foods.

There is also be the 23rd edition of the Gastro Junior Brno - Bidvest Cup international competition, which is designed for students of cooking, pastry chef and waiter curricula. Evaluation of their work will as always be done by professional juries composed of internationally certified referees and also from leading gastronomy experts.

Come to have a look at GO and REGIONTOUR Fairs in January where you can explore, compare, try and buy the tours.
