About Trade Fairs Brno

Trade Fairs Brno is the leading brand in trade fairs and exhibitions in Central Europe. The main scope of activity is the organising of trade fairs and exhibitions. Further activities include construction of exhibition stands and related services, rental of all areas within the premises of the Brno Exhibition Centre, organisation of accompanying programme events along with fairs, as well as the provision of all services that relate to the holding of trade fairs and exhibitions.

Tradition since 1928

The business of Trade Fairs Brno builds on a tradition established in 1928 by the Exhibition of Contemporary Culture in Czechoslovakia. In the 1950’s the first Exhibition of Czechoslovak Engineering was held at the fairgrounds, and since those times the exhibition activities gradually continued to the present Central European Exhibition Centre.

Brno Exhibition Centre

At the moment, the Brno Exhibition Centre offers more than 130,000 square metres of net exhibition area. Brno Exhibition Centre was first opened in 1928 and belongs to the true jewels of functionalist architectural style. Thanks to its continuous development the exhibition centre currently represents a modern exhibition area suitable for holding trade fairs, exhibitions, congresses, sports events, or concerts. The latest addition to the fairgrounds complex is the P Hall opened in June 2009, and offering over 10,000 square metres of net exhibition area.

Trade Fairs and other services

Every year, approximately 50 trade fairs or other exhibition events are held at the Brno Exhibition Centre, and over 1 million visitors come to see them. The biggest tradition is the one of the MSV fair – the International Engineering Fair, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2008. An important product is the rental of the exhibition area to third party customers. Every year, several notable medical congresses are held within the premises, meetings, balls, sports events, or concerts. In 2007 the Rolling Stones played there, for instance. Trade Fairs Brno also offer a complex service related to the preparation and execution of trade fair participation, and not just at the Brno Exhibition Centre, but anywhere else in the world. Trade Fairs Brno is a business representative of Messe Düsseldorf, VNU Exhibitions Europe and the brands Alma (carpets) and Octanorm (exhibition and presentation systems).

Strategic partnership with Messe Düsseldorf and City of Brno

Currently, the main stock-holder of Trade Fairs Brno is the Messe Düsseldorf Corporation (Germany) owning 61 %. The City of Brno holds 34 % and the rest is shared by minor stock-holders. This partnership enables for sharing know-how and mutual co-operation in the development of the city and the region.
