October 20, 2009 BVV Press Center – It is typical for the Czech Republic that the woodworking industry is represented in particular by small and medium-sized enterprises. These groups of producers play an irreplaceable role in our industry. The utilization of wood and its products has, however, been of a low standard in our economy,” said Eduard Muřický, Manager of the Division of Strategies and Trends at the Ministry of Industry CZ at the ceremonial opening of the WOOD-TEC Fair.
Wood is a renewable material being continuously complemented on our territory. A permanently sustainable development is a topical problem. “We must, however, take into account that human needs and natural sources must be in harmony. The development is a way of looking for and finding a solution, beneficial to people, economy environment within a long-time horizon. From the point of view of individual branches of national economy affecting decisively sustainable development, is unambiguously the building industry. Building premises namely consume important part of material and energy sources. In the Czech Republic e.g. wood felling for building materials represents a half of the total domestic exploitation. Just in the building industry wood should be more used than hitherto,” claimed Muřický.
Economic crisis negatively affects not only woodworking industry due to substantially reduced demands for products in EU and also worldwide, but also producers of a high added value and others. Ministry of Industry and Trade CZ has prepared a number of measures to cope with it. “In particular making use of resources of the Bohemian-Moravian Guarantee and Credit Bank and the Czech Exportation Bank with Exportation Guarantee and Insuring Company. Another support is offered by the Operation program Business and Innovations. There are altogether fifteen sub-programs, the most suitable for the woodworking industry being the programs Development, Potential, Real Estates, Progress, Innovations, Marketing and ICT,” stated Muřinský. |
