The term of 14th - 18th September 2009 belongs to industrial, transport, and logistic technologies at the Brno Exhibition Centre. The last weeks before the opening of both fairs are dedicated to intensive preparation activities: exhibitors are fine-tuning the details of their stands and presentations and are preparing information materials on their news and innovations to be exhibited. Organisers are busy organising the accompanying programme and are finishing with the preparation of the promotional campaign that is intended to attract as many professional visitors to the fairgrounds as possible.
The most important event in the Czech industry
This year’s international engineering fair is taking place under highly adverse conditions. The economic crisis has impacted most of the exhibitors, who are facing a serious drop in demand and are desperately seeking new ways towards customers. The International Engineering Fair represents one of the tools of approaching new potential clients and to present new products and innovations to existing customers. From this perspective the strong concentration of offer and demand is highly valuable, and ensures feedback for further orientation of the companies’ business. Last, but not the least, exhibitors want to make a clear statement towards their customers, highlighting their position as strong and reliable partners even during the times of crisis.
Although companies pay greater attention to cost-cutting, they are putting great emphasis on their trade fair presentation, often even greater than in the previous years. They want to be seen and are going to the fair with a clear aim of making new contacts, winning new jobs and commissions, as well as meeting with their existing customers and business partners. It cannot be anticipated that the demand for new technologies will be as massive as last year, but concrete customers will probably have clearer visions than in the past.
Industrial leaders meeting in Brno
The trade fair remains an important part of the business strategy for leading Czech and foreign producers. There will be 1,500 participating companies from 28 countries of the world, bringing the best of their produce to Brno in order to meet their present marketing goals. This year’s MSV will again concentrate the offer of new machines, appliances, and progressive technologies, reaching high quality comparable to the previous years. The traditionally dominant field will be the working, moulding, and welding industry, as well as surface and thermal treatments, in which a whole one third of the exhibitors will be presented. Some other important industries and fields include materials and components for engineering, electronics, automation and measuring technology, power engineering, and plastics industry.
The highlighted theme of transport and logistics is the topic of the parallel fair specialised in transport and logistics, which is taking place only on odd years. The strongest branch of this fair is handling and manipulation technology, but there are many more promising fields such as industrial packaging, warehouse equipment, or rail track technologies.
High internationality
The interest of foreign exhibitors and visitors remains the same like in the previous years. There will be 540 foreign exhibiting companies, many of them coming for the very first time, and the share of foreign participants is reaching, like before 36 percent.
As usual, the dominating foreign participation will be coming from Germany. There will be 250 German companies, 60 of them exhibiting for the first time. Many other Germany companies will present their offer through their Czech representatives or distributors. This year’s presentation of German federal countries will be record-breaking (Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, Bavaria, and Rhein-Paletinate).
After Germany the countries with strongest representation will be of Slovakia with 80 exhibitors, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. There are many new exhibitors coming from Europe, as well as from Asian countries. Official participations are being prepared by Germany, France, Italy, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, and Taiwan. Visitors will be coming from many countries, too. Some of the business missions have announced already, e.g. from Germany, Russia, or Great Britain. |
