Protection against floods Brno is a project based on a cooperation of the Czech Counter-Floods Association and BVV Trade Fairs Brno. It offers unique shows of all types of counter-floods measures taking place in a newly reconstructed swimming pool in front of Hall Z of the Brno Exhibition Center. Its integral part is a consulting and training center for the representatives of state administration and local self-administration, but also for owners or administrators of real estates in risky areas in the vicinity to rivers.
The project is supported, in addition to the Czech Counter-Floods Association, also by ministries involved in the fight with floods – Ministry for Environment of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic.
Practical shows of counter-floods measures will be presented directly at the premises of the Exhibition Center, in a specially adapted 24x63 m swimming pool with a ford of 30 tons carrying capacity. A swimming pool of these parameters enables all technologies known so far to be applied to fight with floods. |

An integral part of the International Water Management and Ecological Fair Watenvi held in Brno always represent the traditional demonstration shows of flood protection measures at the pool in front of the Z Hall. Flood protection measures constantly increases in its importance and remains the focus of experts worldwide. Floods are one of the most severe natural disasters at the territory of the Czech Republic. Also the shows in the pool in front of Hall Z help solve the protection against big water.
