KRONE Powerband new concept for drive of rotor of the ZX forage wagons

Product: KRONE Powerband new concept for drive of rotor of the ZX forage wagons
Location: Hall F, st. no. 001/C
Producer: Maschinenfabrik Bernard KRONE GmbH & Co. KG
Exhibitor: Joint stand of Krone machines importers to the Czech Republic and Slovakia

Brief characteristics of the exhibit

Powerband is a brand new concept for drive of rotor of the KRONE forage wagons applied within the new ZX II line. The system allows increase of the general performance of the machine in two directions. One of them is the ability of the drive to transfer the performance of up to 400 HP from the P.T.O. of the dumb device to the wagon (increase of switch-off torque of the drive fuse in 40% from 2.000 Nm to 2.800 Nm) and the other characteristics features is the very narrow build-up area of the machine set. Thanks to space saving – compared to previous technical solution – it was possible to extend the cutting rotor with diameter of 880 mm up to 1830 mm. That increases the channel cross-section, throughput rate of the cutting / insertion group while preserving the forage processing quality.

Specification of advantages compared to the competitors

Revolutionary news of the ZX wagon of new generation is the Powerband system drive solution. This the drive by high-speed compound V-belt reaching on driven pulley the value of 1 200 min-1 revolutions in combination with planet gear reducing cutting rotor revolutions to 46 min-1.The Powerband drive system uses the reduction gear placement into the rotor body. This is a unique solution by KRONE. In this way, there is obtained space for cutting set extension up to 1910 mm. In this way there increases the throughput rate of the cutting device and general performance of the whole forage wagon.
