TECHAGRO 2024 is based on smart farming, and upcoming transformation of agriculture

November 3, 2023  /  2:48 PM

After a six-year break, the agricultural and forestry fairs TECHAGRO, SILVA REGINA and BIOMASS will be held at the Brno Exhibition Centre from 7 to 11 April 2024. It is a major opportunity for manufacturers and suppliers to showcase new machinery, modern technologies and innovative tools that allow them to increase the productivity and sustainability of agriculture.

"TECHAGRO is the largest trade show to be held at the Brno Exhibition Centre in the first half of the next year. Preparations are conducted by joint efforts of major sectoral institutions, with whom we also cooperate on the content of the expo. The upcoming edition will reflect the current trends in agriculture and will therefore focus on smart farming, digitalisation, autonomous technology and practices that ensure higher yields while maintaining sustainability," mentions Jan Kubata, CEO of BVV Trade Fairs Brno.

A new feature will be the Smart Farm project, which will offer a combination of a stage programme of lectures and presentations, specific practical demonstrations and exhibitors‘ displays. "We are aware of the development that agriculture has undergone in the last six years. That is why we are coming up with a new concept for TECHAGRO, based on discussions with key importers and manufacturers of agricultural equipment. The Smart Farm project offers more opportunities, and we believe that it will be a suitable new way of presenting global brands and other companies," commented project manager Petr Maliňák on the progress of preparations for the expo. Dozens of companies, including sellers of agricultural equipment, have already registered for the TECHAGRO fair.

TECHAGRO is also long-time supported by the Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic. "We are glad that TECHAGRO is taking place again, the Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic will definitely participate. Czech agriculture needs a space where news and trends are presented and where information is available that will move farmers forward. The application of advanced technologies in plant and animal production with the related processing industry is the most important prerequisite for as many Czech foods as possible to appear on Czech tables," said Jan Doležal, President of the Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic.

Additional specialised events are held concurrently with TECHAGRO. "The SILVA REGINA forestry and hunting fair records a positive development. Both Czech manufacturers and importers of global brands have registered. SILVA REGINA is an essential part of the agricultural and forestry fairs in Brno, and its development makes us happy. Considering the energy situation in the Czech Republic, the full potential of the BIOMASA trade fair is beginning to be revealed, chiefly thanks to the presentation of alternative methods of heating," added Maliňák.

The Brno agricultural and forestry fairs will celebrate their thirtieth anniversary next year. The first edition of TECHAGRO was held in 1994, and its content was agricultural and forestry equipment. Over the time of its development, this complex became the most important sectoral exhibition in Central Europe.
