International Food Fair
Tastes from around the world
Tables of Czech consumers are also increasingly featuring international specialities and many of these unusual kinds of food and drinks will be on display at the Brno Exhibition Centre. Canada opens its official stand at Salima once again - a country of maple syrup, cranberries, whisky and ice wine, which has a lot to offer to European consumers. Food from the American North attracts by non-traditional flavours, high quality and favourable prices. "The food is generally cheaper in Canada than in the Czech Republic. When food is being imported in large quantities, transport costs will not make it much more expensive, therefore even long distance is not an obstacle for trade," explains Martina Taxová of the Canadian Embassy which organizes the exhibition. Organic food will also be represented, as Canada has a long tradition in its production, also mixtures for preparation of hot beverages or favourite instant oatmeal; an interesting novelty in the Canadian offer presents honey pills for sweetening tea.
