Salima flagship to focus on fresh and regional food
We will find mainly small and medium sized companies among the food exhibitors this year, offering a new and interesting assortment. Emphasis is placed on both high quality and freshness, and on demanding processing of raw materials.
The taste of regions...
... is what you can find out in Hall P, at a stand conceived as a restaurant with professional facilities, where a project of the Association of Hotels and Restaurants aimed at promoting regional specialities takes place.
Tastes from around the world
Tables of Czech consumers are also increasingly featuring international specialities and many of these unusual kinds of food and drinks will be on display at the Brno Exhibition Centre. Canada opens its official stand at Salima once again - a country of maple syrup, cranberries, whisky and ice wine, which has a lot to offer to European consumers.
Time for coffee
A chance to sit and enjoy quality coffee will be offered at the Coffee Test Zone – a café with examples of barista art and Latte Art, barista training blocks and attractive competitions.
What are gastronomic juniors capable of?
You can find out at the 18th annual international competition “Gastro Junior Brno - Nowaco Cup” finals, which does not have its equal in its tradition, scope and level of expertise anywhere in Central Europe.
A forum of experts
Salima in Brno is also an important discussion platform for experts from the food industry and a place of top meetings of politicians. It is considered a centre of alimentary business in the new Member States of the European Union and traditionally plays host to meetings at ministerial level, under the auspices of European Commissioners.
“Food Forum” international conference in Brno
Ministry of Agriculture and Federation of the Food and Drink Industries of the Czech Republic (FFDI) are organizing “Food Forum”, an international conference with the topic of “Ways to sustain foodstuff production, quality of foodstuff and development of local and regional markets”. The conference shall be held on February 28, 2012, on the opening day of International Food Fair SALIMA 2012.
