Tatra presents vehicles for the army and fire fighters at IDET

A complete range of trucks for fire fighters and the army was presented by Tatra Kopřivnice at the International Exhibition of Defence and Security Technologies IDET. This so-called "sevens" series, accompanied by the latest chassis- T815-7Z0R9T 44 440 8x8. "The cornerstone of this Czech car producer’s presentation are its special vehicles, T 815-7. A standard model range of vehicles, unofficially known as "sevens" is intended for operation in extreme terrain and climatic conditions, for performance and support in peacekeeping missions and for deployment in the combat conditions of war. The chassis of this type of vehicle is based on the concept of a rigid backbone tube with swinging and independently hanging half-axis," said Pavel Štefka, director for Tatra international defence programmes at a press conference.

In addition to these models, a novelty by Tatra was also presented at the exhibition - Chassis T815-7Z0R9T 44 440 8x8.1R, which is part of the special recovery vehicle KWZT-1 Mamut by the Polish company Pojazdy Specjalistyczne Zbigniew Szczesniak, Sp. z o.o. The recovery vehicle is able to take care of all current and future tactical wheeled devices – recover them, build a path to hard-to-reach places and with the help of a highly mobile trailer for transporting completely unusable wheeled vehicle systems and their variants, deliver them to a desired location.

With a solid traction device, axles rated at 14 t load, the vehicle is capable of pulling wheeled tactical means. Moreover, it is equipped with a hydraulic HIAB crane hand, 44 tm with a remote control. The high degree of mobility and the ultimate ability to overcome artificial and natural obstacles of the toughest terrain is given due to an excellent chassis design with backbone frame and with swinging and independently hanging half-axis, known as the "Tatra vehicle concept”. The Polish company received a DEFENDER award for the vehicle at the 18th edition of the International Defence Industry Salon in Kielce 2010.
