Looking back at last year's fair
In scope and participants’ positive feedback, MSV 2012 was the most successful Engineering Fair since the outbreak of the economic crisis. A slight market recovery resulted in exposures sizes and vibrant business atmosphere. The fair was attended by 1886 companies from 32 countries and also the size of exhibition space increased to nearly 45 000 square metres. The proportion of exhibitors from abroad increased to 49.5%. The exhibitors’ offer was seen by almost 76 000 visitors from 62 countries. MSV thus confirmed its leading position among industrial fairs in Central Europe, namely the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Poland, Austria and Hungary.
The commercial importance of fair is confirmed by an extensive survey among exhibitors and visitors carried out by Ipsos agency. Participation in MSV together with corporate websites and direct personal sales is according to them one of the three most used marketing tools to reach customers. A whole 91% of exhibitors at the fair made new business contacts with potential domestic customers, 54% with potential overseas customers and 31% of the exhibitors at the fair concluded or pre-negotiated an export order. This corresponds with a high quality visitor structure. The vast majority of visitors to MSV 2012 (93%) were professionals working in one of the exhibited or related fields, 32% of the visitors had decision-making power or co-decided when buying goods and services in the field and 34% possessed at least an advisory capacity. Three quarters of visitors come to MSV regularly and 79% of respondents are planning to visit next year.
