Makino U6: A wire EDM that cuts parts and costs – on its own
The Makino U6, the precision wire EDM successor to the highly successful DUO series and larger brother of the U3 launched last year, has been designed for extremely accurate and productive machining of plastic moulds, stamping dies or parts.
The reliability and robustness of this high-precision wire EDM in non-stop working operations are such that the operator can turn his attention to other tasks while the U6 gets on with the job. Key technologies such as H.E.A.T. (High Energy Applied Technology) and Hyper Cut guarantee many hours of intervention-free manual machining. Other outstanding features include little or no wire breaking, fast machining times and very low wire consumption. Since the machine‘s new guide head, wire extraction and cleaning system also reduce maintenance time, users can spend more time cutting.
There are a number of functions facilitating the maintenance of the Makino U6 machine. The new compact head makes cleaning and replacing the guide rails considerably easier, while its compact design reduces the risk of a collision with the workpiece. Extraction of the wire from the machine and its drying system also facilitate maintenance, with the final result being more time for cutting. The new-generation Hyper-I Control system from the company Makino is easier and faster to use, allowing even a relatively inexperienced worker to achieve exceptional results.
